Hey Carleton - I just sent you a BM on this as well. I sent out two packages (one being yours) to illinois last weekend and both packages are under this "exception" now. sorry for the delay on this...

Oh, no worries man! This is in no way your fault...unless you were playing on the train tracks in Montana :grinning:

Shippers' responsibility to get the package there safely....but how does one pack well enough to survive a train derailment?

What is the protocol if the package is damaged?

On the bright side, all the out of date IPAs on the way to Philly have been stopped by this exception... Too soon?

Someone was driving that train...I think u should worry if that person was alright ,before worrying about some beer that u can replace just IMHO

Agree 100%. I sent a box that was lost when a FedEx truck went into a river. They reimbursed me for package, but I had to replace it all. The box included Black Tuesday, Oude Tart, and several other good beers. This is a risk we all take when we ship.

Wait what? Is that directed at me for making this topic? Read the link. It talks about two dozen derailed cars, not the actual train engine getting in an accident. There were no reports (in all the articles I read) of casualties. If you seriously think I care about a package of beer more than someones life, then well, wow. And on another note...why should I worry if the conductor is alright? Do you worry every time something goes wrong that is unforeseeably related to your life? Come on man, shit goes wrong all the time. I was just curious if other traders were in a similar situation.

You also forgot about all the insects and flowers that may have been crushed by the cars.

    What is your problem man...

I had the same thing happen. From what I read it didn't sound like a UPS load. I think the trains are delayed is all because mine is coming west not going east.

After going through some of the recent posts in the ISO/FT forum, this made me laugh out loud. Thank you.

I will try best to replace what is lost. I, unfortunately, have 3 packages all containing KDS (6 in total) that got this Exception. It really was out of my control but I will replace them if I can.... Or I will return their boxes to make them whole if they don't get the packages.

    Cheers,

    Joe
