So I am driving from Seattle on Sunday and headed to Missoula and I'm hoping people on here have some suggestions on cool beer bars/bottle shops and Breweries in o around Missoula. Also If anyone wants me to bring some shelf beers for some trading action. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers
Draught works is a good spot. The dram shop is pretty new and has quite a bit rotating. Kettle house isn't to bad.
Missoula is the best beer town in Montana, then Bozman, followed by Billings. Kettle House is my favorite and where I learned to appreciate craft beer back in the early 2000's. It's been a few years since I was able to drink beer in Missoula so I can't comment on Draught Works. I've heard good things. The Rhino Bar has the best tap list in town.
Same question, My Parents are in Missoula for the next few days. Don't wan't to send them on a wild goose chase, what is a good bottle shop? I mostly enjoy IPA's and Stouts/porters but am open to anything worth trying. Any recommendations on some recent stuff?
Tell them to go to Kettlehouse. All their beer can be put in crowlers now. Wordens had the best bottle selection IMO. Also steer clear of the rhino. Terrible draft line condition, diacytal in every beer I tried there. Draught works is cool, but I would drive a little out of town to Stevensonville and go to both Blacksmith and Wildwood
The dram shop fills growlers too. Bottle shops are summer sun garden and brew, wordens are my 2 favorite
Too late for the drive out (they're closed on Sunday, anyway), but on your way back you could do a lot worse that stopping by Selkirk Abbey in Post Falls, ID, for some Belgian-inspired beers.
For only having 2 breweries (a third on the way) helena is pretty spoiled. Blackfoot river brewing makes possibly the best beer in the state. Any and all styles. And lewis and Clark is pretty solid all around brewery too. I can't complain about having blackfoot as my go to either.
