2nd Birthday Bash was awesome for the short time I was there. All I drank while there today was their new Passé Pale Ale. It's damn good and a legit Sue/ZD competitor. No joke, even though Dave said he wasn't completely happy with it. It was phenomenal to me.

So proud of what 515 has accomplished in the last two years. They are my #1 Iowa brewery and I'm very lucky to practically be neighbors with them. Congrats on your success and amazing beers in your first two years and I can't wait to see what the future holds!

It's absolutely worth the drive. However, I like them under the radar so I can go drink their beer with no problem...so maybe you oughtta stay in Minnesota.

Don't worry. I really don't like leaving my house. And rarely venture outside of a 10 mile radius. :sunglasses:

Yep, the birthday bash was awesome. Passe was great, another excellent entry in their "meh" series of beer. I am digging the new beers Exile is putting out right now, but 515 is by far my favorite Iowa brewery these days.

Just got the new 515 newsletter today and it says that Mediocre, Passe and Big OJ are all in the fermenters right now and will be ready soon. STOKED! Those are my 3 favorite hoppy offerings from 515 and some of my favorite beers from Iowa.

@515BrewingDave any updates on the new brewhouse expansion and when you guys might start doing growler fills?

Brewed our last batch on the old system last weekend. It'll be cleaned up and off to Wing Nutt brewing shortly. Everything is done in Oregon and we expect it to ship next week. Hopefully we will be brewing on it in a few weeks! Have a collab with Rock Bottom we are doing this weekend to make up for our lack of production and the DSM beer week collab as well coming up, so hopefully passé and mediocré and Big OJ last until we can get some new stuff on! (And hopefully then we can start doing the g word too!).

By the way, if you like fruit/vegetable beers, give The Basil Protocol a taste and see what you think.

Any idea on when you will be tapping the new batches of Passe and Big OJ? Probably coming in after work today to try out regular OJ. Also with Bottlecaps on this, love these beers, my favorite from 515, but when can I take some home? Thanks 515.

I stopped in for a OJ (and a Dart  ) last Sunday and man alive did that hit the spot. That OJ was a solid beer, one of the best beers I've had in a while. Can't wait to be able to stop in after work and bring some home...

Passe is a couple weeks out at the moment. Mediocre should be this weekend. Big OJ is going to be a few weeks still (just brewed it last weekend. That one takes a few weeks)

Expect growlers once we start rolling beer through the new fermenters, which is dependent on getting the new system up and running. Barring any problems, I'd expect hoppy stuff in growlers sometime in early July. Perhaps some of the less complicated stuff in growlers later in June.

If we run into issues (I don't anticipate it, but who anticipates issues?), slide it back a few weeks. Would love to have a growler in your hand for the 4th of July

I thought the Basil Protocol was pretty decent. Would be happy to see them continue to explore saisons and sours more.

It was diffidently different. The basil came out a lot I thought. I enjoy the pickled aspect that the cucumbers had but was ultimately dominated by the basil. Would be the perfect beer back for a bloody on Hawkeye Saturday.

515 Brewed it's first batch of beer on the new brewhouse - Lil' Tart. Should be ready before long. Also, according to a reply on Facebook, it sounds like 515 is now targeting "mid to late Summer" before they are filling growlers.
