Chocolate Rain. Have put up a few ISOs and all anyone wants is WALEZ or no response at all. Stop holding out for the best trade and lets just trade some good beer!

No hate - PtY is a very average beer IMO - now THAT brings on some hate!

huh. it's weird, despite the Gotta Catch'em All rare-obsession of beeradvocate, i've never actually thought about "what beers have i sought but not found?"

i mean, there's a lot of beers i want, but haven't had (e.g. adam from the wood, #1). but i haven't made any serious effort to obtain them (e.g. westy 12 i sort of set as a "beer goal," but the conditions were "if i go to belgium, if it comes over here, or if a trader extras it to me." i have a weird personal rule against trading for it...).

the first beer i can think of that i've been looking for for years but never see in bottles is:

    1. captain lawrence golden delicious

and at the moment that's all i can think of. i looked for weyerbacher blasphemy for a long time, but eventually found it. same with heady topper. KBS i didn't look for but it just came to me luckily... would have looked for it had it not.

i want to say handbaak or whatever it's called, but i think i recently found some and balked at the price.

hmmm. i can't think of anything else. i guess i'm relatively lucky.

as for stuff i've tried to trade for and failed, like i implied above, none. what i've tried to trade for, i've gotten. i don't really go whale hunting.

    immediate edit:

    2. a fresh bottle of anchor small beer

    3. a fresh bottle of some other beer, but i'm too lazy to think of it. i'm sure it exists.

PtY and some hopslam on the hoppy side of
things. And then there's always Kate, and maybe some of that Dark lord stuff I've heard about once or twice.

Once Shelton starts distributing to your area you will have to change excuses for why there never is any on your shelf to the same reason there never is any on our shelves back east.

You might be right, but I'm not entirely sure. Other beers that seem to sell out almost instantly elsewhere hang around on shelves for months here. And on my trip down to Portland a few months ago (with literally minutes allotted to beer shopping) it was easy to find a few 3F beers, not to mention many other Shelton Bros distributed beers we can't get here. Cantillon might be a special case, but it would be at least a step in the right direction if it could be sold here legally.
