I heart Greenville. Got a growler of Mexi Cake at Total Wine. Then randomly went to GBX today and they had two growlers left of Mexi Cake grabbed another.

I absolutely love Greenville. Every time I go down there, I score excellent beer. I got a bomber of Mexican Cake, and 2 crowlers of Westbrook 3rd Anniversary and Coast Blackbeerd at Green's.

Ive had the tequila BA version, but not the base. Just got a bottle. The amount of effort I made to land just one.. whew!! it better live up to the hype. :astonished:

Macon got their allotment yesterday, which appeared to be one, maybe two cases. We did get a keg though! Had Mexican Cake on tap at Just Tap'd last night, then went over to Rookery for a burger and discovered KBS on tap. It was not a bad night.

Based on the draft version, I think I liked last year's Cake better. This year seems to have a ton more cinnamon and chiles going on, which is good but last year felt more balanced. Regardless, I'm not complaining and this is a great beer.

Personally, I like the base beer better than the tequila BA. The DB, however, blows both away IMO.

Well if anyone has a bottle of DB they would like to share Ill bring anything I've got in the cellar

Also I am a big fan of Tequila. (Ok-Si did it very well btw). So I love a well made tequila BA beer. Key words Well Made

Just Tap'd? Looks like I have a new place to visit next time I drive through Macon. Love that Jimmy Carter Burger at the Rookery.

The tequila is the best of the last year's batch.

After reading the MC reports in the 'Mid-Atlantic' forum, it looks like a LOT of Cakes ended up in New York.

Thirsty Monk had a beer fest as part of the Asheville Beer Week event that featured a keg of Mexican Cake. At the end of the night they were selling growler fills for $2.50, and someone walked away with 3 growlers for under $10.

Typical. Westbrook is pretty big into growing their brand (I obviously can't hate on a business for doing that because after all thats what a business is supposed to do), and getting your signature beer into the NY market is definitely a grow your brand move. I wondered why is didn't last in SC at all this year, and that explains it. Oh well. I'll trade for one or two to keep the vertical going, and drink it on tap somewhere around town as it trickles out throughout the year. In the meantime I'll keep binge consuming 2015 BA Blackbeerd which I prefer anyways. And will certainly keep bingeing on Gose, which IMO is their best beer.
