Sour, Saison, & Funk: Hints and Hauls

Here's my cut-and-paste of the rules:

The idea for this one is a box filled with lambics, wilds, berliners, saisons, farmhouse goses, etc as well as anything and everything else that has Brett or is otherwise rustic or funky.

The rules:

- At least 6 beers, with a minimum of 150oz.
- All beers must have an rAvg of 4.0 or higher at the time you send them
- Try to find fun and exciting bottles / growlers that your target otherwise wouldn't likely be able to try

I'm looking for a ship date in early March, probably March 5. This should give people some time to put a box together.

I'd like to set the number of people between 10 and 20.

If you're interested, reply to this thread and also BM me your contact info. I'll limit it to people with at least a few trades under their belt, though if you're a newbie and want to lineup an experienced trader as a sponsor, that works as well.

I'm very excited to get this one started. As a reminder, here are the rules:

- The shipping date is Monday March 5, 2012
- At least 6 beers, with a minimum of 150oz.

(1) be a want; or
(2) have an rAvg of at least 4.0 on Beer Advocate at the time of shipping
- All beers must be saisons or anything that is funky and/or sour. This includes all the sour styles on BA as well as any other beers that are listed under a different style, but were intentionally soured or inoculated with Brett.

If you can't hit wants, please try to find fun and exciting bottles / growlers that your target otherwise wouldn't likely be able to try.

I guess it all depends how soon the "merger" is. There is info there I need such as address and wants list. I have some things for my target and I was going to buy 2 more bottles and possibly a growler this evening. I can't remember if the rule was that all beer has to be a rating of 4 or higher or 4.1 or higher. Can you clarify that one as it might impact some purchases I was going to make.

I believe I received the first box, which crushed my porch when the site was down. DaveHack sent an awesome selection of brews, thanks! Will post the haul and pics tonight!

 

I am indifferent on the ship date. I am going to have my box out on Friday or Saturday depending on when a recent trade comes in.

I voted for the 5th as it still seems like there's plenty of time to get boxes together before then...just need to make sure address will become available via the merge and that I'll be able to access wants/re-built wants before then...I'd taken a look but my memory's not THAT good and I'd like to hit as many as is possible...if not, it'll be a great box anyhow, just less want-y ...

 

I'll most likely ship next week, but if other people need more time, I have no problem extending the deadline a little.

 

I agree with a previous poster, I am fine with extending the deadline a bit too. To be honest I was procrastinating just a bit on this one which got extended due to the site problems that started a week and a half ago, so I only have a couple of the bottles planned that I'm going to send. I plan to put together a great box, however, to do that, I'd really like to have the rest of the site online at least for a few days so I can really tailor my box to my target's wants. That being said, March 5th is likely doable if everything is back online soon, but I want to create the best box I can for my target.

This. I don't mind if anyone needs an extra week or so to put together the box they want to send, rather than just throw something together to make a deadline.

 

I think an extra week would be a good idea since wants lists aren't up yet. I have a couple bottles already for my target, but I was trying to hit some wants too
