I am very well aware of this fact.

That logic is somewhat flawed in the fact that when it's released who knows what it will trade for. It just got released, so you have to go purchase it and go from there. I guess if you meant that most didnt anticipate that it would trade well, then I agree with that sentiment.

Also, for a beer that doesn't sound super crazy, thats a long ways for most to drive for 2 500ml bottles. Everything else you get there isnt really special, aside from the now out of production Strawberry Rhubarb. So really anyone driving out there is a just going for that.

Not much left. Few hundred bottles left as of yesterday around noon.

I think trade value fell through the floor when they sampled Wild Bitter at a few of the movie premiers around Madison and Milwaukee for "Tale of the Spotted Cow." Word got out about the beer from there and not nearly as many people were willing to take off of work for a sub-par beer.

You raise a valid point. However, pre-trade requests can be a fairly good barometer. I wish BA did not allow pre-trade requests because they intesify the hype even more for releases before they actually occur. Also as BigBadBeerSnob mentioned, in the Wild Bitter instance the "Tale of the Spotted Cow" event got the word out early on the beer as well. And of course there are some people who will still load up (via mules, etc) on a limited release with the hope that the "market" will settle in their favor. Wild Bitter is a great release imo. It's getting good reviews so folks do seem to like it generally & they had no problem getting a couple bottles either. For the most part, anyone who wanted to try it has had ample opportunity to do so which is a win in my book.

Anyone confirm if any Wild Bitter still left after Memorial Day Weekend?

I'm thrilled that this first 2015 R&D release went so smoothly. The beer is very good, well made, and a true "R&D" style beer. I'm looking forward to more frequent releases, even if some of them aren't as sought after in the beer trading market.

I think it would be awesome if NG would keep the style & name completely secret until the first release day. Now that would be fun.

Agree that between volume and lower quality from the tasting previews it is definitely not worth trade value that some are trying to get for it. I wasn't a fan from the bottle I've opened.

Also, any word on the next one? It's not too far away. If it's anything like the past release, probably won't rush to get down there. They can't handle the parking.

Considering we are two weeks away from the next release...I pray that at least one bottle of Wild Bitter is for sale then

I feel like it may sell it out before then or it would in those 3 days if everyone that is there for the next release is gonna buy 1-2 again.

Honestly surprised this isn't out there yet. NG must be getting better about secrets!
