Is absolutely fantastic. This needs to be year round. It really brings the base beer to a whole new level.

I enjoyed the vanilla bean version, but I didn't feel that it improved on the beer that much. This, however, wow.

Anybody else feel the same about this beer?

Had one tonight with some Columbian food, nice pairing. The chipotles are fairly subtle and well-integrated and are a natural with the smoke flavor.

Been drinking it now consistenly for a month now. The heat is towards the back end for me and the roasted qualities of each ingredient pairs up perfectly. The vanilla is good too but imo it makes it annoyingly sweet and it has a syrupy quality to the body that in this summer season I just cannt jive with.

I totally agree with you; it's ridiculously delicious. This brew is a perfect example of an added ingredient complementing and accentuating qualities of the base beer and bringing it to a whole other level.

Unfortunately the chipotle version didn't seem to make it to my area. The vanilla did, but I found it significantly worse than Stone's regular smoked porter.

Like it so much that I'm gonna try and hold onto a couple of bottles to use in a turkey brine this fall.

I loved it. The vanilla bean seems to get all the attention, but I loved the chipotle porter.

Just had one. I think pepper beers aren't my thing. I liked it at first, but then the heat just got annoying. It wasn't very present, but I just didn't dig heat with beer. It was my first and likely only pepper beer. I could see why people like it though.

I could see what you mean, but the pepper on this one is actually the most restrained of the pepper beers I've had.

I once had a habanero pilsner at a beer Fest (thankfully it was the last beer of the day); it was still burning my mouth an hour later.

By no means did I think it was overpowering, just not the thing for me. I just don't like the idea of heat in a beer I think. The actual flavor I got from the first couple sips before I noticed any heat was really nice.

Pretty much. Hoping I like the Vanilla Bean more since I have a bottle of that yet too.

Guess I'll be the contrarian here and say I didn't think it was anything special. But I'm glad you liked it. Cheers!

I didn't think the small amount of heat that came from this (way at the end) was overwhelming at all. It did compliment the smoke already there, but I must say that I liked the Vanilla much more.

I like the way the chipotle (a smoked pepper) compliments the smoked malt in the porter. I thought it needed more heat though.

I really enjoyed the chipotle, but prefer the vanilla (even though as a chile head I thought I would have the opposite experience). Just something about the way the vanilla worked with that subtle peatiness.

Totally agree chipotle is awesome, vanilla bean was ok (much better after it warmed) but chipotle just worked with the base beer and I'm not usually big on peppers in beer.

I thought the chipotle was way too forward. Paired nicely with the ginger chicken recipe I had, but it was a bit of a struggle to finish. Too much of a good thing, imo.

Much better than the vanilla bean in my opinion.
