Had this on tap at my favorite watering hole, and I must say its a very tasty easy drinking beer! I consider myself a hop head but I was pleasantly surprised with one!

It should not be very expensive, but as we relayed many times before, its up to the retailer to charge whatever they feel is best (the supplier has no authority to dictate what the retail price is the customer). What is interesting though is all retailers in a state generally pay the exact same amount for the beer as one another, so there should (in theory) be very little price differential among stores. However, we know that not to be the case.

I'm hearing reports of $9.99 up to $14.99 for this beer and others - that is a huge price swing. However, one thing we can't account for is what the retailer's cost structure is like. What if they are in a prime area, like Times Square or along the beach - their rent is undoubtedly going to be way higher. That's why its up to the retailers to make the right choice for themselves to determine what they think will be the most competitive price.

Bottom line is if this beer is at $9.99 - $10.99 at certain stores in NYC, you should be able to get it at that price somewhere in your area as well. cheers

not released yet.... we'll let you know

we already brewed the beer you have been asking for - we will make sure to let you know when it is sent out for distribution - cheers!

I don't think i ever post anything in here but after enjoying my first Sixpoints Jammer i just had to say well done. I tend to stay with the Saison's in summer but this will really fit right in there. Thank you for making a very pleasing beer.

I thought that this beer was excellent, I have enjoyed it every time i've had it, both on tap and in the can. Not every sour styled beer needs to be puckering, and that extreme is not representative of the traditional gose style anyway. Good on Sixpoint for making a beer that fills a spot that isn't currently filled

The problem with making statements like "not representative of the traditional gose style" is that no one living that I am aware really knows what the style traditionally tasted like as it was an extinct style until recently when people have pieced together the general framework for it, however many of the things I have read since this thread blew up indicate the beer was "tart" from lactic acid via lactobacillus, the jammers i have tried (2 packs now just to reassure myself) have not been what I would describe as tart or sour and many historical descriptions of the style say it was even more sour/tart than a berliner so that to me would indicate it was closer to the puckering you describe.

Did you read the article you linked? It specifically says that experienced Gose drinkers said Lothar Goldhan's Gose was authentic, thus there are people alive today who know what the style traditionally tasted like.

Shane, do you normally change recipes based on what you read here? How is Jammer selling?

Had it on tap last weekend and was let down... It was flavorless for me. Not bad, just not impressive by any means. I expected a little more tartness or something I suppose, but my girlfriend who is becoming a gose and sour freak also said she didn't taste anything (I thought maybe I had palette fatigue due to an IPA prior, but she didn't). I wouldn't get again unless the recipe was changed up a bit. I like all the other Six Point stuff I have had though!

@Sixpoint , will there be a way to tell the difference between the packages of batch one and batch two? I'm definitely down for a six pack of the second go-around.

I have the same thoughts. I too had it on tap in a flight. But it was the first one I tasted. Did nothing for me. No taste. Nothing. Glad I didn't get a 4pk of it!

Also, for the record, I did buy two more sixers of the first batch. While not my favorite, it is majorly refreshing!

Needs to be saltier and more sour, but because of that I would suggest this as an introductory beer for anyone who isn't familiar with the style.

First of all, a Happy Father's Day to everyone out there. Managed to sneak in a couple of beers out on the deck here while my lovely wife walked the baby to the farmer's market...before our father + mother + daughter dinner date tonight. :-)

Thanks for everyone for their patience on this, but we are happy to report that Jammer 2.0 is canned, palletized, and shipping to all wholesalers this week. You should have plenty of Jammer back on the shelves in time for the 4th of July wherever Sixpoint distribution is. If you know your local Sixpoint distributor or bottle shop, we recommend calling them to ask ahead if they received their new Jammer shipment.

Before we start here, please keep in mind this is a "Sixpoint Gose" and in no way is meant to imitate, replicate, mimic, idolize, or recreate any of the American Goses in the marketplace OR the "authentic" German goses currently in production. We did not start a brewery to copy other brewery's beers, we have been formulating our own path since 2004.

We took the feedback of @Gose_girl23 @Pisthetaerus @tkdchampxi @Lare453 @DrMindbender and others over the past 1.5 months to make continuous improvements to this beer. You should definitely expect a more pronounced tartness in this batch (significantly more acidity), as well as a slight increase in salinity (about 7% more salt). We also wanted a more brilliant beer with a better body and more depth to the malt base, to balance that extra sourness. Instead of it being dry and thin, look for a clear beer with a more pronounced body with a slight biscuit and honey undertone to it.

You will most likely get a little bit of sour in the aroma as well, complemented by a salinity and slight ester profile. You can smell the wheat as well. Those are all from my personal tasting notes with Jammer 2.0 as it came off the canning line late last week.

Folks, this is your Jammer 2.0 - for those of you who may say, "great, why did they have to go ahead and change this beer?" keep in mind the same thing was said when we altered/improved the Hi-Res, converted our 16oz cans to 6packs of 12oz sleeks, changed Resin from 4packs to 6packs, and many other innovations or improvements of the years. While some of those decisions were met with trepidation of change, in the end the consensus was they were all most definitely major improvements in the name of progress. We firmly believe you will see this as an improvement - and we invite more feedback! If you feel the same, please revisit your review of the beer, if you have already done one. And if you ever want to personally chat about the beer with our brewing department, please feel free to email us at [email protected]

Last, we wanted to give you a very clear "heads up" so you know how to identify the new batch (if the old batch is still at any of your stores, many have sold out).

As below, the new Jammer 2.0 6packs and cans will have a code date of BB 18 Dec 2015 on it, whereas the old Jammer 6packs and cans will have a code date of BB 25 Oct 2015.

    Cheers, and thank you!

This is the new Jammer batch - look for code date "BB 18 Dec 2015" - that will guarantee its Jammer 2.0

This is the original Jammer batch - look for code date "BB 25 Oct 2015" - that will mean its Jammer 1.0

Jammer 2.0 (left) pictured vs. Jammer 1.0 (right). We wanted beter clarity on Jammer with incrementally more salt and a more pronounced tartness in the aroma and flavor. We also wanted a slightly bigger body and very slight toastiness to it.

    Closing note:

Progress is hard work. We aim to improve our formulations with each and every batch. This can mean sourcing better materials, improving our processes, and/or altering the formulation.

For those of you who have followed us for over a decade, you'll know this is in the DNA of the company. If you look at our core beers (Sweet Action, Resin, Bengali, Crisp) you'll note that we brewed these beers hundreds of times now, but they don't taste like they did on the original batch. Currently, we believe they taste the best they have ever tasted, but only because we have spent the past decade trying to improve all aspects of the operation. Grab a 6er of the latest batch and let us know if you feel the same.

A wise Englishman once told me "the proof is in the pudding." Thanks for feedback and continued support. Keep on Jammin'

Great news on the Jammer 2.0, Shane!

Have a few left of the original version....which I like very much, and was just crushing one a bit ago!

Look forward to trying the 2.0 Jammer soon!

Keep innovating.....you are doing great things!

    Cheers....

Funny, I literally just cracked open, and am now drinking, my second to last Jammer when I opened BA on my IPad to see the alert about this post. Must be a sign to buy the new Jammer as soon as it hits my store. Not my favorite Sixpoint beer but still a refreshing summer beer and I'm curious to see the difference. I'll have to save my last original to compare it to the 2.0. Cheers!
