    I'm sure their neighbors disagree.

I hear you, Flashy. No potential customer WON'T Drive an extra 5 miles for Alchemist beer, and that extra 5 miles might really positively affect a town that needs the traffic. Obviously the Kimmichs have ZERO obligation to due so, and should do what makes sense for the business a family first, but if they could make a good business and family decision that also helps the neighborhood, why the hell not?

It takes a very wise person to agree with me!

Because that town doesn't have the appropriate wastewater system.

What town? But since you mentioned waste water, how advanced of a system could Greensboro have? I am not going back and forth over this, like I said I have my opinion and you need not agree.

I'm sure its noted somewhere in here but I couldn't find it, how often do they can/deliver Focal?

Focal is only available regularly at restaurants and bars right now. There were a couple store deliveries, but those were unexpected and at least one was tied to a fundraiser for a charity.

It's a beautiful thing. Steel was delivered Monday, starting going up yesterday. Frame should be all there within a week! Thanks for passing this on to the BA community, @BoldRulerVT.

I'll chime in as opportunity arises. There's been a lot of site preparation going on of course: laying utilities, access routes, putting in the foundation and service entrances. Now comes the drama of seeing the structure actually rise up from the grade... Those of you familiar with building process know that this stage is visually impressive and moves fast; then it will slow down again as the mechanicals begin to get roughed in. And breweries have a LOT of mechanical systems. But, anyway, "Huzzah!" BTW, we are also working on projects with TreeHouse in Monson, MA and Vermont Distillers in Marlboro, VT, with more to come. Never a dull moment.

Hey Rich, since this thread might stagnant for a bit as we wait can you tell us how you became so involved with construction with breweries? Give us the inside scoop.

Here's a short synopsis: I work with Austin Design Inc. (ADi), a western Massachusetts-based architectural firm licensed in VT, MA, and CT. Many years ago ADi began to work with Janet Egelston, founder (with her brother Peter, now of Smuttynose Brewing and Portsmouth Brewery) of the Northampton Brewery, now New England's oldest brewpub; we've completed four major projects with Janet and the NoHo Brewery over the last 25 years. When I realized that we had that significant body of experience under our belt and that one of our new staff members - Peter Webster - was, in fact, a former pro brewer (Seattle's Big Time - another brewpub pioneer), we developed an intent to pursue that niche.

I approached The Alchemist shortly thereafter, knowing their Waterbury situation: John and Jen graciously agreed to have ADi submit a proposal to them. Long story short, we designed and are now helping them construct their new facility in Stowe! Building on that, we have been gaining momentum and enjoying the privilege of working with this region's fine brewing community. We are adding even more experience and gaining in reputation, so I am confident there will be much more to come as the word spreads. We helped out Daniel at Lord Hobo Brewing a bit as he was getting off the ground; we're currently working with Tree House in Monson; Vermont Distillers in Marlboro, VT; and a start-up in Salem, CT, soon to be announced. JC at Trillium decided to handle his own expansion in Canton after talking with us quite a bit - I know whatever he does will be stellar. We have another super client coming up soon too... stay tuned. And thanks for asking! BTW, this is our website http://austindesign.biz

Ooh this caught my attention because im actually a town away from Salem so a new local brewery is very exciting. Any time frame to expect an announcement?
