well given that they sold out in minutes the 3$ really didn't bother me.. what does bother me is the drive I'm going to have to take to San Diego this upcoming weekend.. i just hope they still have samplers for saturday.

Same here but doubt it. I called them direct today and they didn't even know if they were doing samplers thursday. LOL

Super excited to try these. I was able to max out on all the variants. I too will gladly pay 3 bucks to ensure I get a bottle instead of having to camp out for hours and potentially get shut out

You must have gotten a bad bottle, I felt the coconut was the highlight of that beer.

I definitely understand paying extra for convenience, especially for highly sought after beers. Other breweries' lottery systems seem to work just fine, though, and require no service fee and then you pay at the brewery. As fast as these go, it's basically a lottery anyway.

I won't begrudge others the choice of paying extra. There are plenty of people in San Diego that would probably pay even more, so it's a fine business decision on Modern Times' part. I do spend quite a bit on beer as it is, but the $20 or so service fees if maxing out at checkout is the price of another really, really good beer or set of beers. It was just too much for me.

I felt the exact same way. I would love to try them but the prices of these beers coupled with their constant availability from many different breweries makes me have to pick and choose. That being said, Modem Tones is one of the best breweries out there.

Your bottle must have been bad. I actually chewed on some coconut in my bottle. It was one of the best beers I've ever had.

3 BA stouts deep. Hard to spell but not hard to calculate bottle sizes from pictures.

Seriously though i'm so impressed with Modern Times use of terrific coffee in their stouts. These guys are the best in the game right now in my opinion.

Still ISO some of these (not coconut). Have all but vanilla ANTEAD and Regular Coffee from Carton (among other beers).
