Make custom cranial and facial implants. For fun I rebuild and restore old English cars and brew all grain. And probably drink too much Bourbon.

No I am not a philologist, I don't study the history of literary texts and written languages. Although, I would like to get to that point someday! I study the pragmatics of language, discourse, genre analysis, sociolinguistics, and how speakers of other languages acquire a second language. It's quite fascinating, especially in a Chinese context. It's best when I have a cold one in hand, too. Although, I can't drink on the job. :stuck_out_tongue:

Logistics manager for the Navy currently supporting a 20MM gun system that goes on MH-60 helicopters. Everything you've heard about waste within the government is false. It's much worse.

Data Analytics for a company that tracks what food manufacturers send to convenience stores.

Short explanation - very likely I can tell you what your local gas station has in stock.

Wow. Five pages in and I'm the first one. No wonder it's so misunderstood/reviled here.

Marketing. For a preclinical research (CRO) company. That's right. I'm the one that 'convinces' you that Big Preclinical Research is done 'the hard way'. Except not at all. Because that's not what marketing does.

I spend most of my day writing, doing design/layout work, looking at data, thinking about data, web content management, and sometimes a little coding.

Mostly I'm a cyclist and brewer, but not good enough at either to get paid for them.

I'm an executive recruiter for a recruiting agency, basically a headhunter (one of my fav beers, not so coincidentally). I was thinking the same thing! I've thought about replying to some of these engineers like "well hey, would you consider moving to Cincinnati to work for a major tier 1 auto supplier? They offer a competitive salary, benefits, and relocation" Then I remembered I wasn't on LinkedIN! and thought "hm....."
