I am in California, have not seen it yet. It is one of my favorites, so I buy as much as I can fit into the beer fridge.

11.9.12 was the first bottled iteration?! Those 2+ years went by fast.

All the Stone rotational IPAs are tremendous, funny I don't like the regular IPA all that much. Could be an age issue with that.

    Indeed they did:

"Thanks for reaching out to us! The recipe is the same every batch; however, occasionally we tweak it based on limited hop availability. It’s usually pretty close each time though!"

And they are right IMO, every batch I've had has been IMO identical. I can't tell any difference.

Sweet! I'd think that means it'll be showing up around the rest of the state soon.

Would you be willing to opine on the dank to fruit ratio?

The last few batches of Stone Enjoy By were dominated by the dank aspect and not too enjoyable for my palate. I did enjoy drinking this beer in prior years (2012-2013) when the tropical fruit aspect was the dominant feature.

    Cheers!

Didn't see that noted, but I can see it.

Funny I get a Muscidine grape hit from the hops, never tasted that in any other beer I've ever had. It's unique and a very easy drinking Dipa, love it, but I haven't seen it in a while, not our rotation time I suppose.

Just to clear the air, the person who responded to your email was incorrect. The recipe for Stone Enjoy By IPA doesn’t change, and it hasn’t since the ever-referenced change in 2013. No tweaking of the hops based on availability, no occasional changing of the hops. And just a reminder that my inbox is always open if you have any other questions as well!

    Cheers,
    Stephanie

Nice and thank you, this kind of openness is what makes Stone and a few other breweries really great. But unfortunately there are some out there that view this kind of interaction as a hassle. Fresh beer is a serious issue in most places I imagine. There's Ca IPAs on the shelf I saw today bottled in Jan, anyone who buys that will likely never buy one again and their reputation is tarnished when they really did nothing wrong. Enjoy By was a great idea.

I agree with this 100%. I really like that Stone takes the time to "clear the air" - not everyone seems to realize how much of an impact that can have.

    Thanks for the clarification Stephanie!

What?? Really? So its not true..????? the recipe doesnt get worse each time its made? "I dont like this batch as much" LMAO.. I always have so much fun with these posts when they come out AFTER EVERY batch of Enjoy By... Ive heard the craziest stuff about each of the new batches and most of it on here BA... all these prpofessional beer nerds (Myself included) always are changing the enjoy by recipe.. Cheers Stone.. keep up the good work and keep everyone guessing about the "NEW" batch why its not as good as last batch

My favorite is still the 4.20.15 (Was dry hopped with weed) So DANK!!!! LMAO

Newest Enjoy By was pretty solid. Gave it to a friend in a blind taste test and he thought it was Pliny the Elder. Though much hoppier than the Elder, it's a very solid DIPA.

From what I remember from the last release, this version is much less dank and crisper.

Not their best Enjoy By. First hit of aroma was pineapple and orange. Second whiff was tons of onions, not favorable for me. Too much bitterness and an unpleasant medicinal, alcohol taste...
