Just traded for a bottle each of the Cranberry, Blueberry, and Peach from de Garde. All amazing and I am hoping to find more in the future. Great suggestion. Cheers!

The Bruery's Hottenroth is excellant and really fits the style perfectly; it is shelf beer, but I believe it is a seasonal.

You are from Massachusetts so you need to try Nightshift thier fruited berlinners which are also seasonals.

If you trade you need to seek out everything from August Schell's Star of the North series of berlinner's they are all excellant.

Also trading for Crabtree berliner and Crabtree Ich Bin Ein Berliner both are shelf beer and readily available in Devner, CO and probably a few other towns in CO.

Last, but not least Degarde out of Oregon makes some amazing berliner weiss in their Bu series. They pretty much dominate the top 100 berliner wiess list, most are at the top of the list.

Professor Fritz Briem 1809 Berliner Weisse from Germany is a good one and here in the States, The Bruery turns out a nice representation called Hottenroth and it runs around 8 bucks for a 750. The 1809 will set you back about 6 bucks for a 500.

Evil Twin - Nomader Weisse. I love this one, whenever the bottle shop gets it in I pick it up.

De Garde's fruit bu's are a whole different story in terms of trading. There are usually pretty low bottle counts and limits and usually sell out within a couple of days of being released or are limited to the quarterly release parties. The base beer, Bu Weisse, is one of the few beers that you can find without having to drive out to the brewery (which is about a 3 hour round trip from Portland). Bu Weisse sits on shelves in Portland along with Petit Desay. They are both in the $5-6 which is amazing considering that they are all wild fermented in coolships.

I've got Dawn Of Aurora and Cypress Blanc in my beverage fridge. I think I'm gonna break out the Dawn Of Aurora this weekend.

If you happen to be in Bell's distro area, their Oarsman Ale is a good Berliner Weiss.

Fritz Briem makes a spritzy Berliner that I think goes well with green tea ice cream. =)

Yes. Any of the fruit bu's are near impossible to find unless you go to the brewery on the day of release and wait in line. But at the end of last year, they flooded Portland with the Bu Wiess. You can get it at most of the independent grocery stores around town and the bottle shops sell it by the case.

Like others have said, evil twins berliner weiss is very good and probably sits on the shelves in MA (it does here in CT) try to get your hands on some nightshift. If you trade, degarde is a must try if you like this style, even their more obtainable berliners are amazing. If you like this style and haven't tried a gose yet, you should try that also.

Also, just traded for some Athena from Creature Comforts, which I heard is really amazing.

Since folks are suggesting the trade route, try trading for some Red Bud from Independence Brewing in Texas. It's very tasty. I second the Schell's, Bell's Oarsman, and 1809 from Professor Fritz Briem. I thought all the Night Shift ones were pretty bad.

If you know a decent bottle shop, check out Gasthaus & Gosebrauerei's Berliner Style Weisse. Their Leipziger Gose is great, too.
