    In no particular order
    1. Hill Farmstead (I was lucky enough to live in VT)
    2. Allagash- can do no wrong
    3. Maine Beer Company
    4. Founders
    5. Goose Island

  2. StrappingYoungLad

    1. Stone
    2. Boulevard (mainly Smokestack Series)
    3. Samuel Smith
    ^all untouchable and instant loyalty-buys

    4. Against the Grain (haven't had nearly enough of their beers but I've loved every one I've had and their...well...against-the-grain attitude is rad and constantly intriguing)
    5. Cutters (Best up-and-coming Indiana brewery for me. Haven't had a miss from them, and the General Brown and Floyd's Folly are nectar.)

Doing this @Greywulfken style and bumping my own thread. :grinning: Actually, I was trying to clean up the inbox, and was searching for something else when I noticed this one from back when I first activated my account. Obviously I still didn't know how to use the site yet because my last entry here was supposed to have one of these :stuck_out_tongue: behind it based on their popularity here (even though I do like several of their overpriced beers). It appears I deleted my real final answer in the process, which was Sierra Nevada at the time.

A few hundred more beers later, I think I would stick with my list other than substituting Deschutes for Brooklyn. We didn't get their distro at the time. Even though Thirsty Dog is usually hanging with Great Lakes in representation of each style offering, I would probably throw Sixpoint in there with them for honorable mention. Still going by this: best being the number of different styles and the quality of each. I love Lagunitas, but still no lager.

    4. Founders
    5. Stone
It's tough to complete a top 5. I'd say after my top 2 there are about 1,000,000,000 breweries that I would hold close together. Actually, there might be a top 50 that are all pretty close. There are a lot of good breweries. That's a good thing, but makes us a little snobby. 5 years ago I'd drink a Fat Tire and be soooo happy. Now, when I go into the store or to a bar, look for a 'favorite' and am disappointed if it's not there. Not saying I wouldn't enjoy a Fat Tire still...

    Hmm. Good question.

1.) Ayinger. I haven't tried anything they've done that I haven't stared at and said "wow" after the first sip or two.
    2.) Weihenstephaner / Schneider Weisse. I can't pick between them, so they'll co-own #2.
4.) St. Bernardus. Almost on the Abt 12 and the Wit alone.
5.) Schlenkerla. Everything of theirs I've tried has been magical.

Great Lakes would have made this list, were it a year or two ago. Then they started dropping seasonals I loved left and right to churn out IPA variant after IPA variant, and I've noticed some variation of late in batches of Eliot Ness.
