I have to say my mom trained herself to seek our beers. She has watched me when we stop a liquor stores to see what I like/do etc. and is getting better. I think it is somewhat funny that she is into the chase and trying to get me something I will like. Long story short I went to her house on Easter and she hands me a 4 pack of Double Crooked Tree and a bomber of BBA The Money and says "Here, from the Easter Bunny."

This is such a lovely thread! Some great stories here, really good to hear.
I don't usually have many people buy beer for me, and this certainly doesn't count as muling, but I did receive a box of beer in the post that I didn't order, and nobody has owned up to it yet. I'm very confused, but certainly not complaining!
Other than that, I have a few relatives who will scour the beer aisles at Christmas and for birthdays, but not in an organised way at all.

Haha sorry stumbled upon this looking for a beer mulling article. Don't attempt it at Anaheim stadium. When I was a little kid my dad and uncle had put a few beers in the binocular case I had around my neck. Security checked, think he got a ticket, or moral ticket. Hilarious though, at 29 I remembered it a few weeks ago and brought it up at grandmas house, good times

I had the same thing. My parents supported my passion for craft beer and when I was underage and couldn't buy it myself my dad would pick up releases for me.

I would not be on BA if it were not for my family becoming mules. I live in Nevada with limited new releases / hard to find beers, they live in California and travel to Oregon and New Mexico. My mom has no problem standing in line at a brewery to get me a hot new release and even gets extras to trade. Its the same with my sister in law if a bottle shop posts a hard to find beer she will drop everything to make sure I get it. I really appreciate that my family has helped me along in my hobby!

I always brought craft beer into places where it was discouraged by hiding them in the diaper bag, now my kids are older and I have had to get inventive. At home though they are taught early how to pour a proper pint whether it be from keg, can or bottle.

Yes! My daughter turned 21 in February and it has proved quite handy...My crowning achievement however happened just this past week when we enjoyed an extensive tasting together at Cantillon. I've raised her right

My parents are always on the lookout for me. Anytime they pass by Toppling Goliath or New Glarus, they always bring me back some goodies!

For the Cycle Thursday release (one per) both my parents jumped in the car and made the 35 minute ride to St Pete to help me out. I did get them a couple Cuban's at Bodega.

My son is almost five, and upon seeing me sweaty after doing yard work, he commanded "Daddy, you need a beer!".

In a separate incident we were on our way to Chicago when he woke up from a nap as we were approaching Three Floyds to grab some bottles from the kiosk. I told him I was too tired to go in to grab the beer, and that he would have to do it for me, and I pretended to fall asleep. He immediately burst into tears, screaming and crying. I perked up and said, "it's okay bud, what's wrong?"

He could barely keep it together, and through a hard sob, said "I don't know which beers to get for you".

A trooper for sure, but I think he needs a little work.

My mom has picked up beer for me just from me talking about the hobby. I never was into IPAs much and she would always ask the store clerk what is popular and I ended up with many IPA's....then I had her write down anything dark colored and she picked up some BCBS.

The title doesn't really relate to what the original post describes. Having someone offer to pick up a beer for you isn't muling.

Packing your entire clan into a car to exhaust the local stores' supplies to satisfy your obsession at the expense of everyone else is muling.

I'm going to ask my children (3 and 5) what daddy's favorite thing to do is.

If they say drink beer, then I'll bite, I'm officially raising mules.

Hell, who wants a tie for father's day?

You are the problem that is becoming of craft beer. That's not "helping you out," that's you being greedy.
