I'm pretty excited to see them get started! Their Franklin & Franklin Jr DIPA & TIPA (as well as others) have gotten local praise. I'm happy for Mark & the entire team at Sutter Buttes. I try & make it up there as often as possible to get my hands on some of their good beer & food. I know I'll be grabbing a couple growlers!

I'll be heading to Sacramento in September, think I'll make a pit stop here on the way back. I've been meaning to go here for months...

Franklin Jr and TIPA are both Peter Hoey's creations, and now that he isnt helping Sutter Buttes anymore, those beers are average and dont have the same quality. As for the rest of their beers, I've tried and they've failed. I cant imagine that their barrel program is going to take a mediocre beer and make it any better.

The brewery isn't even 3 years old yet. Instead of bashing them, use constructive criticism? Who knows, what's in the barrel could be rare and delicious as shit. They are consistently changing recipes, and sell out of most of their beers pretty quickly.
