Headed to South Lake Tahoe for a few days. Hoping to hit anywhere that needs to be hit. Any recommendations? Won't be leaving the area, so please keep it to SLT. Thanks!
Does North Lake Tahoe/Truckee count as leaving the area? If not, you got to hit Fifty-Fifty in Truckee. Otherwise, I got nothing for you...
I can def make that happen. Mostly trying to avoid the: Make sure you got to Lagunitas and RR type responses.
Not much going on in south Lake Tahoe that I know of. On the west side of the lake in Tahoe City there's Tahoe Mountain Brewing. As @QuakeAttack said, FiftyFifty in Truckee is probably one of the best brewpubs/breweries in the area. They may have some Eclipse variants on tap or in bottle still. Also in Truckee is Mellow Fellow, which has a respectable tap list. There's a second Mellow Fellow located in Kings Beach on the north shore. Tahoe Mountain Brewing has a tasting room in Truckee and while I haven't been to that location, it seems to come recommended over the larger facility in Tahoe City. For bottles, the New Moon health food store in Truckee has a modest but healthy selection (found a Cantillon Vigneronne by chance there).
@analogchainsaw I checked out the tap list at 50/50 and it looks awesome! They have an Eclipse flight as well as Totality and Old Conundrum. Thanks for the health food store recommendation too!
Kings Beverage Company for bottles and Base Camp Pizza in Heavenly Village for a great tap list and awesome pizza.
I just remembered this place, too, if you want bottles..Dart Beverage. I haven't been for years, but it looks like it still holds up.
+1 on Tahoe Mountain tasting room at the brewery in Truckee, which has the experimental stuff Alibi Ale Works in Incline Village is good and I enjoyed the White IPA (nice and dry) and Funkmobile.
Another recommendation for fiftyfifty and tahoe mountain in truckee...tahoe mtn has a lot of good stuff there, quite a bit of which you won't find in the restaurant in tahoe city
