I've been told directly that in its current state they cannot bottle it. Its technically possible for it to be on draft more often but bottles apparently aren't possible due to the way they brewed it.

I also saw someone previously mention that its called Kevin's peaches because those peaches came from his backyard. Not sure how true that is but that could have played a big part in the flavor and if he runs out of peaches it could potentially change the flavor.

Did they mention why they couldn't bottle it? My guess would be that maybe the peach puree is fresher and not fully fermented or that the puree isn't filtered in current form.

I don't think it's solely because they only want to use Kevin's backyard peaches. I'm sure they can find some other type of fruit that has similar peach flavor. I suggest Kevin's neighbor's backyard peaches.

HA! Honestly, they did tell me...but surprise! I was drinking... and I dont want to misquote them  I do know it wasn't because of the peaches but it was something to do with the brewing process itself.

This is it. With any of our other fruited sours, the fruit is aged with the beer for long enough for any fermentable sugars to be consumed by the yeast prior to packaging. With Kevin's Fuzzy Peaches, the beer is packaged fresh, stored cold, and served quickly before any further fermentation can occur. As the yeast in the beer eats the sugar and dries the beer out, the mouthfeel that is so characteristic of KFP would change dramatically. Additionally, more CO2 is created in the bottle and we'd definitely end up with over-carbonated bottles - potentially to bottle bomb levels (though I haven't done that calculation myself).

I suppose in some parallel bruniverse, we could pasteurize the sour base to prevent any future fermentation, back-sweeten with peach puree at bottling and force-carbonate the beer, but that's just not how we roll .

I believe 11 might be a Hoarders only bottle for later this year, iirc.

Thanks Matt! Would this be a beer that could potentially be offered in growlers one day?

Sure, growler fills of Kevin's Fuzzy Peaches is technically possible, but we won't be doing any fills at this time due to the extremely limited quantity of this beer we have. As much as we (at least, I) love this beer, our production schedule is maxed out currently and it doesn't look like this beer is on the schedule to return anytime soon.
