Yep, I knew you were the kind of guy that would take the information from my FedEx box, put it into a spreadsheet, and decide to be very tricksy later on... like now But sounds like you're considering me a Mike (which, regardless of first names is what I consider myself) so I'm out of the running.

 

Yeah -- I don't like giving hints that somebody would need weird "inside information" to figure out. But just in case...

AA Hint #1: My target's username and my username share at least 1 (unique) character.
AA Hint #2: My target and I do NOT share a first name
AA sort of Hint #3: My target has a lot of wants, very few of which are local to me -- but many of which I can obtain. So he will probably get a mix of wants and Locals.
AA Hint #4: My target is the only member of the Locals from his state
AA Hint #5: My target is NOT @treznor

General complaint (take with a grain of salt as I'm a rater not much of a reviewer), but did you ever notice that ratings (especially for non-IPAs and non-BA stouts) are significantly lower for beers than reviews? It drives me nuts that some awesome beers get these low ratings (normally beers that have a small number of ratings or reviews) due to ratings, while the reviews are pretty glowing.

 

It's probably a function of reviewers vs. raters. Somebody who is going to take the time to comment on the nuance of a beer's smell or something is probably more likely to appreciate the subtleties of a brown ale or ESB than somebody that just wants to tick and move on.

 

Another thing to look at is where the reviews are coming from. High reviews of a Side Project beer lets say that comes from St. Louis is sometimes designed to help drive the hype machine

 

I think saisons are one of the misunderstood beers. Some people don't like them because most of them don't smack you in the face like an IPA or BA beer. However, it doesn't make it a bad beer.

There are multiple Locals members from the state I'm shipping too, but none of them are very active anymore...

 

I'd say that's certainly part of it. I know I have a much better chance of reviewing something that is really awesome versus something that's average. Right or wrong, its the way it works for me. Though I only rate really good stuff on BA for the most part anyway.

 

No posts in almost 5 hours...I am disappointed to say the least.

Guess I'll just go back to the other thread now...
