He "saved" roughly $30-35 bucks or so off the average price for 5 bottles. Up to $40 if the prices would have been higher than $10 average price.

Bought a keg of Fremont IPA last week and was charged $50 instead of $85 for it. I didnt realize it until the next day so I went back to pay the rest and the owner let me pick out a brewing book for my honesty!

WWS and 120 are common screw ups bc they are so pricy, look like common DFH stuff (except the caps), are sold at big places like Whole foods sometimes and come in beer holders that don't have bar codes (totally white).

I have literally debated the price with a Whole Foods manager before. Came up with a plain white 4 pack of one of those and tried to check out. Clerk tried to scan the pack, but there was no code. I said just scan the bottles. She scans one and $12 comes up. She says, $12 please. (For the purpose of the story I need to disclose I tried to pay the real price) I said it's $12 a bottle. She's like that's a mistake. I'm like I wish it was. She then calls over the manager and he proceeds to tell me I'm wrong and it's $12 for a 4 pack of 120 or WWS. It only ended when I brought him another DFH beer and told him to scan one bottle. Shocker it came up something like $3.

The worst part was after this massive incompetance on their part and me acting even dumber by insisting there was an error rather than buying a lifetime supply of 120 or WWS for $3 each, the manager and cashier proceed to make fun of me for paying almost $50 for 4 beers. America.

The gas station by my work just started carrying craft beers and NONE of them are priced correctly. It's like the manager just made prices up as he went; Founders Reds Rye for $6.99 a six pack, a bomber of Arrogant Bastard for $14.99, A 4 pack of Torpedo for $5.49...ect....

One night I went in after work and saw they had bombers of Ruination but no price tag. When I went to the cashier (who was baked out of his mind) to ask him how much it was, he scanned it and nothing came up. He said, verbatim, "Man, I don't fucking know...like $2.99". I bought all of them.

Do I feel bad? A little, but then I remember the cashier was a hippie white guy with dreads and it is prudent that his life sucks all the time.

definitely agree with the HONESTY IS THE BEST POLICY - that said, & i'll bet someone already pointed this out but didn't read further... these days most stores automatically ring up shit via sku scan etc.. if the price was input wrong in the system, how do you figure the register is going to come up light/unbalanced at the end of the day or that the receipts will say something other than the price that was charged? the figures will match the incorrectly input amount(s).

now, if the clerk physically typed in the price & hit the X & 5 buttons then yeah. but if s/he physically typed in the wrong number 5 times consecutively, you probably don't want him/her working your register any damn way. ijs.

So there's no intent element for crimes (theft) in your jurisdiction huh?

So how long are you going to keep possessing/trafficking cocaine on those Andrew Jackson & Ben Franklins in your wallet?

I used to be a minimum wage cashier. The few times my drawer was short, I was embarassed that I screwed up rather than being upset someone else may not have caught my error doing my job.

I'm really glad I had a crappy minimum wage job though, it totally gave me incentive to get a better job, skills etc. . .

I noticed my local store manager only rang up 2 Stone 10th Ann. Ruinations when I bought 3. I went back immediately and paid for the 3rd, he was very thankful and even let me know ahead of time when Devil Dancer was coming in (the exact delivery time). That being said, if the computer has a beer entered with the wrong price I would say something, but if they say something like "well that's what the register says" then I'd let it go. It's not the cashiers fault the price wasn't entered correctly.

Id say a good 30% of the time I am charged the wrong amount. And about 9 out of 10 of those times, I am overcharged by like a buck or so.
It's really annoying to have to use the calculator on my phone to be sure everything is correct.

If it was their doing then who cares, they deserve it. If it was some other error then they wont be in trouble .

how about this because i know it's happened to more than just me. something like the original post occurs, you point it out then have to painstakingly pull teeth & shit to get the clerk to understand you're not asking them to throw in a free beer or for additional money back - you're trying to correct the fact they undercharged you.

Is it a screw up if they've had the wrong price on an item for 2 months?
    Example, Sixpoint Resin/Bengali Tiger/Righteous cubes for $5.49.

A liquor store here used to have Bell's Java stout six packs for $8.99 (seems like it was a mistake, but all the six packs had that price tag.) A cashier once forgot to scan a bottle of Monk's Cafe, so I got that for free. Got a six pack La Fin Du Monde for $2.79 the other day too (When I looked at the receipt, it turned out that they only scanned a single bottle.)

At my local store the 120-minute ($10.49) is next to single bottles of Saison du Buff ($2.49). Maybe those two got mixed up in the system?

When? In 1927? Many places don't do that these days. Perhaps a mom and pop store, but not the big retailers.

Walked out with a $13 bottle of Devine rebel for $2...no price tag on it yet, cashier estimated that the beer was worth $2.
(I did not consciously know this was a $13 bottle of this beer when I purchased it)

I was distracted at check out time, I had quite a bit of items and my daughter was asking me for some gum. I did not notice the error until I got home. Woo Hoo.....sorry I was happy, and congratulations to you for being a great grown up individual!! I'm very proud of you. Unlike me, I am sure you would have driven right back to the store, no matter what distance is. Give yourself a pat on the back for me. Cheers!!

59 posts and nobody in the New England area is asking for the location of this store so they can score some cheap 120 themselves? I am shocked!!!! Or did you BM the OP privately for the address?
