Bottle shop rec's for Pawtucket/Providence/Fall River

Providence is easy; stop at Nikki's Liquors which is close to both Prov and Pawtucket. They have the best selection in Rhode Island, easily. If they don't have CD, check High Spirits, which is about a half mile away and have a similarly excellent selection. Keep an eye out for Proclamation's Derivative too, which was bottled a few days ago and is the best brew in RI, in my opinion..........

 

Countryside in Pawtucket is small but decent. Plus the guy that works there is great. Not sure if he owns the place but always friendly the times in have been.

Other than Nikki's (which is definitely the best), there is ENO (downtown), Campus Fine Wine and Liquors (East Side) and City Liquors (basically across the street from Nikki's).

I will also echo Derivative being the best beer in RI. Which one was just bottled? The new Mosaic one off? Or still Galaxy?

 

@Chaaaarlieeee I think it was the Galaxy version, and the Mosaic was just available in growlers at the brewery. Man, it would be amazing to see that in six-packs or cans at some point........

 

The Derivative just released is definitely Galaxy (I picked up two bombers at the brewery), also a huge bargain. My usual spot for picking up Captain's Daughter was out yesterday. Will be checking again tomorrow. There's also a pretty large place on the East side of Providence (on Pittman St) called Bottles which has a pretty large selection. I have only been there once or twice. Second the suggestions for Nikki's on Branch Ave and Campus Fine Wines on Brook St.

 

Nikki's and Bottles definitely the best bottle shops in RI.

What is current RI law regarding growlers - brewery provided glass only?

 

The law doesn't specify brewery-provided glass only, but some brewers will only fill their own. Call ahead! And here's a post on RI beer laws:

Hey guys.

Cases of Derivative Galaxy bombers went out on Wednesday to distro. I never know where they end up, but you can be assured that those favorite Providence spots will have them. Also, Harper I Apricot and Keraterra with Brett C and Galaxy and Mosaic went out in very small quantities today but won't hit shelves until next week since we are doing the bottle release at the brewery tonight.

P.S. We sent a small bit to Mass as well.

 

Visiting Narragansett later this month, do you fill any growlers or brewery only? Thanks.

Looks like I'm late to the game here, but if folks are looking to this thread for advice on similar matters in the future let me also add that Bottles in the plaza at the corner of Pitman and Gano is a great spot.

Got a friend in Providence right now. What is out now that she should be on the lookout for? I'm a big fan of IPA's. All I've heard talk about is Captain's Daughter and Derivative.

 

Not sure, but Grey Sail may have Pour Judgment IPA out in bottle shops now. If not now, should be soon. I've heard good things about that one.
