Resin, Hi-Resin, Three Beans. On that note, when is the brewery going to open?

cold, my favorite six point beer is a cold or properly chilled example. I would say Bengali is my favorite, but global warmer is outstanding too.

I am really liking The Crisp a notch or 2 more than Prima Pils and I really like Prima. Will try a Bengali tonite and then release the hounds!

Favorite from Sixpoint? RAD, hands down.

The thing is, as much as I love 3Beans (now 4Beans!?!) and some of the other Sixpoint brews, there are similar beers from other breweries to all of those. But for RAD – very refreshing, very sessionable, fruity but not sweet – nobody offers anything comparable (at least in our area).

Took a while for it to click, but by the end of the season last year we were buying all we could get and drinking it like it was going out of style. Unfortunately evidently it was – very sad to see it not return this year. :slight_frown:

we'll be brewing it in only a few weeks, so you'll know by the beginning of Autumn of what the verdict is!

Overhopped, according to who? Perhaps overhopped to your tastes, if you have an aversion to hops. But we recently did a HPLC analysis of BU levels in 6 different IPAs, and ours was right within the range tested. Also, several of our beers have less than 15 IBUs. Is that still hoppy for you? ;-)

This goes to show that by attempting to please everyone, you please no one. There were many folks this year who wrote us saying we needed to bring back the RAD and it was their favorite beer, and then there were folks who were happy to see it go. We like it when our beer makes a lasting impression ;-)

The Res/Hi-Res crew! Please join our email list for brewery opening developments, thanks!

how did you like the Bengali?

4 Beans sounds awesome. This will bring me back to Sixpoint. The last year has been all misses for me. Rad, Sensi, Beastmode, and Abigale just didn't do it for me. Cheers to Sixpoint for trying something different and I'm sure others liked these beers, but like u said, you can't please everyone.

Now if we harass you enough maybe Autumnation will come back this year?

Bengali is awesome as well. Glad to know I can access this beer in AL now. The 36278 zip here is limited though so I will have to drive a ways to reload the fridge.

I love Bengali Tiger on tap, res and hi-res have been on tap in my area as well and are always great. I always find their canned products to be high quality also, specifically Sweet Action.

Have not tried 3beans, but this post has peaked my interest. Will keep my eye out for that one.

Reading the reviews of RAD, it seems like the biggest problem may have been it not fitting everyone's established concept of "beer", but I'm not sure that's all that important in the larger picture...

One of the interesting (or annoying, depending on how you look at it) things for us about RAD last year was that it turned out to be just as well-liked by friends who were definitely not established craft beer drinkers, who were choosing it over options like Leinie's Summer Shandy because it was even lower ABV and not so sweet. So arguably it may also serve as a "gateway beer", to introduce new people to Sixpoint and craft beer in general.

@Sixpoint, you're missing the point here. Not everything needs/should be over-hopped. Just read some reviews on Beast Mode and Abigale. I know what you're going to say: "We don't follow the rules/style guidelines". Which is fine, but when somebody wants and buys a Porter, but gets something like a hoppy brown ale. Or wants a Dubbel, but it turns out to be a Belgian Strong Pale Ale.

Who said Abigale was supposed to be a Belgian dubbel? Did you just make that up yourself?
