I've say Zombie Dust, but being just a bit north of you in PA, neither of us can get it unless in a trade. I have 1 bottle left and I'm going to be saddened when it's gone. It's insanely delicious. I wish I could be more help, but I tend to just drink fewer DIPAs to get my hop fix instead of more lower ABV pales.

zombie dust, by a long shot. thanks again to cadaugherty for including a bottle (or was it 2? if there was a second, i gave it to my friend) in our trade, which also involved me giving extras that turned out to be available in his state:slight_frown:. this affront burns me to this day.

FFF alpha king...I like zombie dust as well but Alpha King seems more like a PA to me.

    Cheers!

Double Mountain Vaporizer is pretty nice. Only available on draft and in the PDX area though I believe.

You know it! That aroma is absolute heaven. The first thing that came to mind for me was sweet oranges. I think they only use citra hops too (unless I'm mistaken).

    Daisy Cutter and Red Chair.

Also a shameless plug for a great local, Bitter Root Single Hop Pale.

I'd have to go with SNPA, though I'm also partial to LA-31 Bière Pâle.

I'd also throw in Daisy Cutter, but Zombie Dust and Alpha King are two of the best.

    In this order:

    SNPA
    Stone Pale Ale
    Elysian Fields Pale Ale

Dale's Pale Ale, Daisy Cutter, Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. Bitter American not bad, either.

The OP should understand that some of these suggestions are definitely bigger than his sweet spot ( Alpha King is like 6%, Dale's is even bigger at like 6.5%) though worth a try.

I'll throw Victory Headwaters out there- nicely hoppy, easily quaffable, nicely attenuated, stays interesting even after a few. That's the one I go to when I want those qualities in a beer, a really freakin' nice (!) Pale Ale.

My favorites that pop to mind are Zombie Dust, Red Chair and 1500 by Drake's. Not sure what is available in PA, but those are good ones to trade for, if that's what you're into.

Did you find this hoppy? I didn't but I also drank it after another beer both times I had it. Tasted like an english IPA both times, quite malty.
