I am going. I've always wanted to go to a crawfish boil. If I don't go to this event with special bottles being sold, I'll never get to one. If the crawfish boil is half as good as their 4 Elf party, it will be a winner.

Always a fun time, and the folksy/rock music just seems to fit the event. The mid-year bottle releases are a new thing that they've tried a couple times now - I like that they're spreading them throughout the year instead of just holding everything until 4Elf. Gives more people that may not be interested or able to camp out all night in the middle of December a chance to get bottles. I'm disappointed that the tequila-barrel pineapple saison won't be available though. Dark Horse also just expanded/renovated the beer garden, so I'm interested to see the improvements. Just an FYI, although the bands play all night, DH usually runs through the 700+ pounds of crawfish by 7-8pm. If you're planning to actually eat, get there by mid-afternoon.

I've never been, but really excited to go on Saturday. Sounds like a great party and the weather should be nice too.

Hoping to hit up the bottle release. Can't stay for the party. Crawfish isn't my thing anyways. Need to be to Davison for the in-laws 40th anniversary party that afternoon.

just a lot of driving for 8 bottles with the limits that low.

Yeah, I'm torn. I don't have so long of a drive, but not sure it's worth my time to get there at 10 for a few bottles, then try to find something to do for the next several hours until the food is ready. I'm thinking I may just have a couple pours on tap and call it good.

based on your username (guessing you might be in Lansing), I was going to suggest we ride together but I'm not going to stick around for the party. damn.

if it was in any sort of direction for me to get to Davison easier I would be happy. But of course my ideal path to get there after, is to go right back through lansing.

Exactly my thoughts. It's about 2 hours for me. Of course I'm addicted to any limited release, but I'm torn on DH's bbl releases and we'd have to wait like you said.

Also, their bottle release couldn't be any slower. I'm not sure the lines could move any slower.

I hear you on the slow lines. I wish they would make two lines - one for credit or debit card sales and one line for cash.

Why not just get there at noon and get bottles before the party? I'm planning on getting there at 1pm and expected to be able to get bottles. With a 4-pack limit, do you really think they'll sell out beforehand?

I'm just basing my experience on the BA Tres Blueberry release from a couple months ago. I showed up to get in line about an hour ahead, and was very near the front of the line. However, the line ended up stretching through the parking lot and curling around the other side. Not sure if they had to turn people away or not.

I'm with you, though. I think I'm going to take my time and hit the gym in the morning, then get there around noon. If I get bottles, great. If not, I have too much stuff cluttering up the basement anyway.

They haven't posted how many cases for this release, they said Thursday, but I bet they are still bottling and waxing them. But for a review of BBA tres release for people wondering about timeframes.

    BBA Tres
    • 96 cases
    • 2:00 went on sale
    • 2x 4-packs per person
    • 13.99 per pack
    • I was one of the last few people to get any, I don't have an exact time stamp (BA doesn't do that), but I would say they ran out before 4:30*
    • We stood in line for around 40-45 min. getting there around 3:30ish
    • It was MUCH colder out... not the beautiful weather it will be tomorrow (gets more people out there)

*I bought my bottles, took them to the car, changed into boots, walked back to the garden, got our tickets, walked around a little, got a sample, opened a new list on the iphone to write down what I was going to taste and the timestamp is 4:37.

I had the same experience. Arrive and hour before hand. Wait in line for like 2 hours and they nearly ran out after me.

If anyone missed out on BBA tres last time and is going Saturday, hit me up. I can bring some to trade with some Indiana trade. There is a post in the IP forum.

Is it fair to jump on your bandwagon? I'd put the same offer on the table.

Might want to update you post to 6/13 rather than 6/11
