Last time I got it, was priced at $16 and while they did tell me over the phone that it would be in stock that monday when I showed up they told me they didn't have any. I spoke to the manager who had it in the "secret room" and I was able to pick one pack. It's a little silly and frustrating. Luckily I've had it so I can cross it off my list and move on. If I see it I'll pick it up but if not then I'll just buy something else. Unfortunately however its one of the few beers with trade potential in CT.

Haha. Hating those four steps IS hating the game.

Seeing a couple more Eastern Fairfield County locations reporting having it in stock just now. Hopefully making its way to Stamford in time for lunch trip since I have a bunch of afternoon meetings.

Delivery today would all depend on if the store actually had an order going from Star yesterday. Probably will be a good amount of spots getting it tommorow.

Anyone know where in Stamford would be my best bet? Cheers!

Seems that it dropped just about everywhere. Balducci's on Putnam in Greenwich should have some. Got to ask though. In Stamford? I would try the bigger stores.

When I went out at lunch it was a yes (had to ask) at Fairway and a no at Bevmax. I haven't seen Bevmax be difficult before so I believed him that they didn't get it yet (in fact I have picked it up off a shelf there before - but I haven't gone the last several drops so maybe Bevmax has changed). I would think Star would hit Bevmax every day but maybe not (or they lied to me). Life goes on.

Ninety9 Bottles announced that they have it on FB too. I know Westport is farther north though.

That's usually my clue to look in Stamford in a couple hours

I won't say don't bother they don't have any. Instead, I will say that I had a meeting in Westport, and just stopped by this store after the meeting. The owner told me that the 10am delivery was sold out "quickly" and he had nothing left. It was first come first serve.

Would be interesting to see if a regular goes in and gets a 4 pack. But I think it's unrealistic to expect a regular that goes in after work today and gets some to post that they did. But if that happens, I would understand. Why should a regular customer not get any because someone like me, who never having been in the store, walked in and purchased the last 4 pack.

I think the larger question here is why is so little of this beer brewed? By the looks of it, they could brew 4x the amount they do now and sell out very quickly. Maybe a capacity limitation at two roads? Perhaps it would be too difficult for Lawson's to keep the consistency if he increased production by 4x?

Bevmax definitely got their shipment today, stopped by during lunch, though it's totally possible they sold out.

Few friends went out to their locals around CT, stores seems pretty frustrated. Both with the constant phone calls, random people coming in and only asking for Sip and with how inconsistent the delivery is.

Spoke to a buddy that works at a store in the Danbury area, they were apparently told at least 3 times over the past week to expect a delivery.

They already brew 100bbls at a time. how much more can you expect? 25% of their entire facility goes to their own brand. The other 75% needs to brew beers for like 8 other contracts. I heard they even turned down Firestone!

I guess that means BevMax is on a need to know basis now as I was there at 1:45 and the story was "ours didn't come in yet" (unless you were in Norwalk?). That's too bad if BecMax has gone that way as it's certainly not an intimate shop and I've definitely purchased off the shelf there before.

I don't expect anything, but what you said makes sense. The question becomes this (I think). What is the max Lawson's would brew if they were not limited by two roads capacity issues. I am not complaining about the 100 barrels, just wondering why Lawson's is not at least doubling production. There has to be a reason. It could be that they do not trust other contract brewers? Maybe 100 barrels is the max production for this beer without risking quality issues? I simply do not know. But I suspect that If Lawsons doubled production, they would sell out in the space of 2 days instead of one day.

I was able to get a 4pk today in Ffld County at the only store I visited. I'm not a "regular" there, but the beer manager grabbed some out of the back for me. When I went to pay, though, I had to listen to a lecture from the kid at the register who said "You guys who go from store to store, looking for SOS and Gandhi, don't realize that every DIPA we sell is just as good".

He used Heavy Seas Loose Cannon and Dirt Wolf as examples. Also, every IPA that I looked at in the coolers was well past ideal freshness. I'd almost rather they just not sell me any than accuse me of being a hoarder and insult my taste.

Stopped today during lunch at my local spot, and SoS was delivered while I was there. Owner volunteered it to me, because I never come in asking for it specifically. He tells me when he orders something special (like Maine Lunch or Founders KBS, etc.) But, to be fair, I also bought two six packs of different beer as well. I want to give him business and he appreciates it.

Also, once the case is open, it is put on display, not behind counter.

By the looks of it I got really lucky today. Grabbed a pair at Ninety9 Bottles in Westport because I saw the FB post. And my local spot tucked away a 4-pack for me, per usual. They said they got less this time than last. I shouldn't feel guilty for getting 6 beers, but with this distro issue I totally do.
