Different situation entirely and you'd have to discuss it with Todd for the specifics. Also, my opinions on things don't always align with his 100%...and they shouldn't. A wise man once said, "if everyone is thinking alike, then somebody isn't thinking".

The problem in this kind of situation is that invites retaliatory feedback for the trade. While on occasion we will look into these things and rectify them as best we can, we also don't want that do become the norm.

Last I recall, there wasn't a "trade accept" button with *option* to back out for whatever reasons when agreeing to a trade. OP clearly states throughout this thread that he made a mistake. OP has also hit that *trade accept* button (17) other times prior to this, so there is no ambiguity to how it works. He obviously felt comfortable in hitting the "trade accept" button for an 18th time. As far as @hustadaj leaving feedback "in a timely fashion", he does have (90) days to leave it. There is nothing in the rules that the trader has to leave feedback within X days, Y hours, or Z minutes. He followed the rules. OP broke " an agreement" irregardless of beer being exchanged or however you look at it. Hard lesson to learn, but IMO, the feedback should stand for the "integrity" of the system.

This pretty much sums it all up for me.

Feedback should be there so we can apply all the different opinions in this thread and make a decision based on where we come down on this issue.

If you don't see a problem with it, then trade with him. If you do, then don't.

I was totally on the side of this being neutral instead of "bad" trader...UNTIL his trade partner said he went and BOUGHT beer specifically for this trade...With that explanation, IMO, he is a bad trader...He is "out" monies he might not have spent..

I was never informed of it. I bought beer too. The deal was for beer he was offering which he had on hand already hence me responding to his iso:ft thread. When that happened to me I just drank it or shared it nothing goes to waste. Except maybe time

Reading this thread got me to thinking. Since everything under 100% on your feedback score seems to be considered a tarnished reputation, why don’t we change up the scoring system. Why not rate it between 1 star and 5 stars the way Amazon rates it’s products? A set of criteria to consider can be associated with each star rating. We can make it that a 3 star trader is average (gets the job done), a 4 star rating is good (leaves a good impression) and a 5 star trader is exceptional (blows you away). A 2 star rating can consist of situations such as this thread where a trader backed out after accepting the trade or a situation where the trader has to get called out before he delivers after 6 months. 1 star could be reserved for downright thieves and douchebags. The composite data could then yield an average rating where anyone with a composite rating lower than 3 would be someone you likely wouldn’t want to deal with.

My issue with the 100% feedback thing is that not all 100% feedback scores are created equal. Some of those 100% traders go above and beyond and make me want to trade with over and over while others leave me wondering why I even bother. Theoretically, the system we have right now can reward someone who lacks great communication, consistently takes his time to ship, skimps on extras, etc., while tarnishing someone who is typically great but hit hard times and screws up one trade. I’m sure there are drawbacks but in the end we would end up with a better upfront indicator of what kind of trader we’re dealing with.

Very good points you highlighted dude. But I believe many on here just trust the beer karma I think the written word on the feedback can give you a preety good idea of what you're in for. But change is always good as long as it means progress

And yet we waste time talking about wasted time. I dont feel it was a waste I learned a lot from all the BA's input.

@hustadaj Just for the record. This was the only time I backed out of a trade. Two out of the 4 open trades are from lazy traders who didn't leave feedback for completed trades the other open trade should close today when the box I sent out arrives and lastly the trade with you that was open. Should I even leave any feedback for you? I have nothing to say really

@F2brewers @Todd Guessing you can close this down now as nothing is going to change and I got my answers.

Locking this, but leaving it up for reference.

Also, attempted ninja edits of the trade feedback you leave don't escape our notice.

    Right @LA_Hue24 ?

Nudge, nudge, wink, wink say no more...
