So I just ran through my two big ole binders of labels I have been saving from beers I have had. The count is currently over 1,000 so I was wondering who has the most beer labels saved?

Also how frustrating is removing some of these? I know my beer review count is around 1,200 so I lost over 200 just from low quality labels that don't want to come off no matter how much I soak them.

I have around 75 labels or so, but they are all still attached to full bottles

Mine are still attached to the bottles too, and I'm coming up on 1,800 of them. I do remove some labels when I have multiples of some bottles so that I can use the bottle for homebrew. I'm guessing that I have 50-75 labels that are in the collection; however, I'm sure some of these are repeats.

Wow, 1,800 bottles must take up quite some space.

Yeah, around 1,300 - 1,400 are on display shelves that line about 70 feet of my basement walls, but the rest are in boxes waiting until I figure out what to do with them. I have really slowed down with my collecting in the past two years once I ran out of space.

Wow, assumed I had more than i did. 642 labels in my binders, with another 50-100 empty bottles from my all time favorites and stuff I haven't gotten around to peeling yet.

I can only remember two labels I've failed at peeling and haven't gotten on a second try. As long as you're patient and very careful, you can usually get em.

1800 empties... Damn. I realized I had a space problem and learned to peel labels at around 100, lol. Must be one hell of a display though.

OP, how do you organize your binders, and what kinda pages do you use?

i collect labels, i just don't take them off the bottles, i have not luck with that, so i just e-mail and
send letters to some of my favorite breweries and see if they send me some labels or i go on ebay and look
for really cool ones to buy. I take picturess of my bottles that i have drank and only keep the really cool ones. I'm in the process of making a power point presentation of my beer pics. I'm up to about 285 different beers.

I think the label removal off bottles is a good idea, but what is the best way to do it?? I would hate to ruin a label off a bottle thats hard to get.

Check out the Oxyclean thread a few down in this forum for label removal ideas. As for not ruining labels, there's no guarantee. I'd recommend starting with easy to find ones/ones you have multiple of. You'll get better at it as you practice, and be much more likely to remove them intact.

I have north of 200 bottles. I intend on removing the labels one day and throwing the bottles away, but my heart aches a little every time I think about it. Anyway, 200 bottles already takes me some precious space, can't imagine having 1800 bottles, granted I don't have a basement, but still. That must be an awesome collection.

I had about 800 bottles, took up too much space, took 'em out and shot 'em up. Labels seemed too work intensive to take off, save (plus, what to do about painted bottles?). . .

So I just collect the cardboard 4/6 pack sides. I'd say I'm getting close to 1000 different ones. I'm going to 'wallpaper' my cellar with them.

Now I just take pics of the bottles I shoot. Now instead of physical space being taken up, its digital space I get concerned about.

Pics please. I would like to see what a 1800 bottle collection looks like.

1200+ labels for me. They are "organized" in several vacuum-sealed bags.

That sounds like a challenge, but I don't have a camera with a wide-angle lens that is wide enough. I'll see if I can put a collage together.

Anticipating that problem I designed all but a few sections of the shelves to be under-drilled so the top of each bottle is recessed into the hole in the shelf above. A few sections of shelves have variable, large-sized bottles that I didn't have enough in each of the various heights to warrant an entire under-drilled shelf for a few bottles of that particular size. It was a minor amount of precision carpentry to accomplish the design.
