He's not getting up near Chicago. When I went through, I ended up at Red Barrel in Terra Haute. It's just a straight shot on 70 through Illinois and Indiana.

Rolling through downtown on 70, downtown Crown is less than 5 minutes off the interstate (street parking only though, not hard to come by but you do need to pay). Kahn's on Keystone is about a 20 minute detour (10 min each way), I'd estimate. Could be worse depending on time/traffic. The best places besides these two would be a much more significant detour as Broad Ripple will be very inconvenient and the majority of the best stores outside of them are on the north and south side.

Kahn's is a pain to get to off of the interstate. I would recommend looking for a 21st Amendment near the interstate somewhere, I find that they tend to have sixers sitting around of the more common FFF stuff (Robert the Bruce in particular seems to be everywhere these days). Also, like @mayorQuimby said, bombers of Backmasking have been just sitting recently, and it's a quite solid beer.

No idea what the current selection is like in Indy, but if you're gonna be hitting Chicago, I've never failed not to find at least some bombers of several FFF beers available at Binny's, and a good bit of mom and pop beer/liquor stores. If you're gonna hit some of the mom and pop stores(and I swear, I hate such stores where it appears the owners mark their beers up for the f*** of it), try going to the better ones like Bottles and Cans(this is VERY close to Half Acre's tap room), Beer Temple(near the original location of Kuma's Corner), or The Open Bottle(off of I-80 in Tinley Park, plus near 350 and Hailstorm's breweries. and I give a lot of props to Open Bottle, for also having their own Untappd account). And of course, going to the flagship Binny's store in Lincoln Park(near North/Clybourn, and Goose Island's main tap room) doesn't hurt, if you have time. I'm sure there are other good mom and pop beer stores in the Chicago area, so don't take it bad that I'm naturally gonna not mention all the good mom and pop beer stores out there.

Space Station: Middle Finger is decent might be easily findable. Also I have seen Lord Rear Admiral around lately. While you are going through might want to pick up some Pipeworks and Half-Acre stuff as well.

I cracked the Arctic Panzer Wolf earlier this week, and yeah, it was excellent. Have also been going through the Yum Yum, and I'm not as much of a fan. I'll start harassing my cousin who lives in Chicago to begin combing the city... will see about getting my old man to pick up some more APW, and will def. have him find me some Alpha King, per the many recommendations.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions and insight.

Alpha King is quite easy to find at any places carrying FFF. However, Binny's out in the suburbs seem to get worked hard and quick when it comes to FFF beers. Check a few smaller liquor stores and if you're downtown it shouldn't be hard to find some additional bombers.
