Vintage still going strong

 

One of their employees said they made 3000.

 

Boxes and boxes left. Big crowd here but most aren't here for the release.

So you are saying mules. "Hey older couple, could I please ask you to buy me 4 bottles of this strange beer for me? Thanks!"

 

So I assume there will be some left for sale tomorrow? These releases are going how I expected them to go. GTMW release will be much different.

 

I was surprised by the crowd still there when I arrived at about 11:30. Parking lot in front and up the hill were packed and long lines for beer & tickets. Then I remembered the Festival going on and realized most of the people there didnt even have wristbands for the R&D. Tons of R&D left, and hardly anyone was buying bottles. Most likely every release will go this easy outside of GTMW.

 

Not mules, and not people there for R&D. I think truly just a lot of people in town for the Polka Fest/Beer, Bacon and Cheese Fest or other reasons that were there checking out the brewery.

 

If your confused you were all discussing the clothes changing and people going through the line multiple times but none of the people who were there said anything it sounds like.

The quote illustrates that inaction is in effect allowing this behavior. Don't just complain later do something about it while its happening. Obviously you have to be sure your not accusing someone falsely but from what I gather here (I did not attend any of the release days) someone could have and should have spoke up.

 

Planning to stop by tomorrow, seems like we will be lucky.

 

I couldn't say anything, because I never saw it. I just said we all have phones with cameras so take pics if you see it. I doubt very few if any were able to get away with it. NG has a pretty good system in place for these releases.

 

Fair enough. I went one day. Didn't witness anyone doing it...I'm sure it happened, but I'm not leading a witch hunt at New Glarus myself. Can't prove anything very well either way

 

I am hopeful for some R&D left for Monday pickup! Had to work all weekend :-(

 

Very laid back release all 3 days, had a lot of fun sharing great beer and meeting new people. Nice meeting you @blue-dream and @end_27!

 

To be fair, when I saw the people change I was changing out of my soaking wet shirt myself. It crossed my mind after the fact that they may have been heading back.

I can honestly say I'd be pretty pissed off if someone started shit if they saw me changing out of my drenched shirt in order to not be miserable the whole way home.

I popped open a bottle last night and I am seriously impressed. I can't wait to do a side by side with this and the cantillon geuze I have, which will probably have to wait until Christmas.

 

Anyone know if there is any left over after the last few days? Wouldn't mind heading up tomorrow if so.

 

At least in the context of these release's its pretty much a non issue since beer is left over which is good. I like to see that it means while greed exists its not enough to detract from a well run release.

 

Beer Depot opens at 10AM tomorrow. Give them a call and they will let you know if there is any left for sale. I bet there is.

 

They had cold bottles for sale in town at the festival. I didn't stay long enough to grab one though.

 

Not for sale, for sampling. This was the Beer, Bacon and Cheese fest hosted by the town of New Glarus. I waited through the long line for a sample.
