Thanks for the suggestions. We like Fells Pt. and have not yet been to Canton so the water taxi would be ideal. Where we go will depend on how many people are with our boatbuilder rep and how much time we have after the show closes each day.

What about the Charm City Circulator, or whatever it's called? Is that a pretty decent bus?

I haven't tried it, but have been told that as long as you're not in a hurry, it's great. Apparently the bus doesn't always adhere to its set schedule very well, so you can sometimes wait a while for one to come by. However, that's sometimes true of the water taxi as well.

:-) No problem. I'm just hanging out in Portland today, and so have plenty of free time. Most of the OBF events don't really start getting going until tomorrow.

    Cheers!

The circulator is pretty great (and free), although it runs in limited areas (mainly close to downtown, but it will get you near to Fells Point). They also have an incredible smartphone app for the circulator which tracks the buses by GPS to the minute of when they will be at any stop. I use it all the time.

I believe this is urban legend, I was in the other day and they were well stocked on current GI including overpriced Juliet (23 vs 15 at other places)

Hmm, I'm not convinced as of yet but note the pricing as if it was purchased on E-Bay or someone from PP rode up to the distro and cash and carried. I have to go by what I've been told and would think that GI (even though InBev now) doesn't want the "dirty dishrag rep." I'll send my PI's out on this one. TY for the "body count" info.

Interesting that you should mention ebay. I don't know if this is an urban legend as well (though the story makes a lot of sense), but I've been told that for "limited" beers like the GI rare, the owner checks ebay to see what the price is there, and marks the beer up accordingly. In a warped sort of universe, I guess it does make sense to do something like that. Assuming that folks are willing to pay that price on ebay, the ebay price would tend to be the "real" retail price for the beer (assuming you go with the supply and demand economic theory on pricing).

In regards to PP, I stopped in for the first time the other day. There was a $35 bottle of Black OPS available, and a $60 bottle of 2011 BA Yeti. So if anyone wants to pay double the retail cost for a potentially infected beer, it's there for you!

Anyway, I doubt I'll be returning there unless I hear of a must-purchase item only available there.
