Partially retired, doing some outside sales now for a locally owned auto parts store. In the past I have payed the bills as an electrician, concrete worker, daytime manager of a craft beer bar, parts/service manager at a Porsche, Audi, Mazda dealership, writer, custodian, home delivery dairy truck driver, log trailer parts salesman, retail store manager, and a few other things. I am a bit restless.......

Pediatrician here. It's a great job for me as it's always fun, sometimes intense, never boring, and as satisfying as a fresh DIPA after a hard day's work.

If it was actually interesting it would probably be more lucrative if you get my drift.

I was entrenched in functional technology up until 2011 where I blindly entered the craft beer industry back in 2011 and have now experienced every facet of the business...brewing, cellar, packaging and distribution/sales.

I'm not a geologist, but I am a fierce rock and mineral nut going way back. We had a rock club at the Junior Museum back in the 50s and I was fascinated with the things that you can find if you look. This was a big area for gold before the Civil War, so there's lots of iron related stuff...found some great iron nodules in the neighborhood, like geodes that I was told are present near gold deposits. I find quartz crystals and amethyst regularly, and lots of pyrite.. My son and I go to Hiddenite and find gems and minerals of all descriptions.
My uncle taught at the University of Texas and he introduced me to Dr. Virgil Barnes, a great and renowned geologist who basically defined Tektites....the glass nodules caused by the fusion of sand and lightning on beaches worldwide. I'm holding the one now that he gave me in 1960. That meeting changed my life. I'm also an avid and successful relic finder. I can't help it! Cheers!
