Neither! Just having a good time - also, idly wondering why we (craft people) love ales so much more than lagers, while the BMC brewers have the greater majority of Americans (at least) loving lagers...

    Aaargh! More elusive semantics! :stuck_out_tongue:

See, now, that's just deliberate... :slight_frown:

Why would a "Beer" Advocate not say both?

Because pale, fizzy, cold, lager beer is pretty much more enjoyable to the general population than anything else. Beer is a drink, not a Monet.

Getting up on its feet, craft brewing in these United States seems to have drawn heavily on British styles. Mostly ales. Love 'em.

I've been drinking more lagers in the past five or six years because more American brewers have been putting out good lagers in the past five or six years. Give me another few years to see how things sort out before asking me for an ale v. lager commitment.

As much as I love pilsners and Vienna lagers, ales all the way. IPAs are by far my favorite style, followed by stouts.

Man, this one was tough. There's hardly anything on the planet that tops a good Marzen/Oktoberfest, but my American pale ales and all those great Belgians...

The true question is "ive got ale or lager. which do you want" my answer is "start with the lager and finish on the good stuff"

think it takes more skill to brew a lager that is almost as good as a given ale if we're talking rheinsgabot bot i'd still rather have an ale
