I'll be heading out to sacramento the last week in aug and need some suggestions for a good bottle shop. Also is there anything seasonally released around that time I should look out for that I can't get in colorado. I typically stay around Howe Ave and Folsom Blvd 95826.

    Cheers!

What beers should I look for there? My favorite styles are sours and bourbon barrel anything.

They have a few different sours right now, not sure about the BA beers though.

If you're able to drive a bit, Davis Beer Shoppe is excellent. I went there this weekend and they have a pile of sours and a good selection of everything else.

    Things I found included:
    tilquin gueuze
    Bruery Tart of Darkness
    Cascade The Vine 2011
    Hanssens
    Drie Fontienen

    hope that helps

If you're there on a Tuesday or Friday let me know, as I work there those days, I'll bring something to share! As for sours, we have Tart Lychee on tap, but the keg is almost killed, and some Hansenns in bottles. We have 21st Amendments Lower FW Boom Barleywine which sat on oak chips. We obviously want some -bal beers, both on tap & bottles, but the market is not really there in the Sac area. We'll be planning a bottle share soon so keep an eye out for that on here.

The Davis Beer Shoppe is a very good choice: affordable bottles, affordable taps, good customer service, and nice town.

Pangaea isn't too far from you, a little pricey though. I'm glad I get my GCBA discount though!

I would love to try some of the cascade and bruery sours. When it gets closer I may be able to bring some colorado brews out if anyone is interested in doing some ip trading.

Our selection is small but growing. We should have the Sonoma Springs Cherry Lambic along with his Fig Lambic when you are in town. The only place around to find it! Except for the brewery, of course

Sweet! Both of those sound really tasty! On a side note, any chance of getting Moonlight beers at Final Gravity? :grinning:

I've already tried, the response I got was... "not enough beer"...

Exact same response a few beer bars in my area received. Being the brewer and distributor, Brian doesn't like driving too far.

I have no problem with the hour and a half drive to Bottle Barn to pick up my Moonlight kegs.

Bring along some Modus Hoperandi and Odell. I'm back in NE working on some Myrcenary right now.
