That's cool man, no worries not like someone asking humbly should deserve to get crapped on but you keep on 2014-Ing like you are.

Where do people park for this? Any issue with local businesses towing cars if it takes too long again?

Trillium's DDH Melcher Street is very close to Dinner minus the 5-6 hour wait. Artaic also had a similar hop profile.

I came in on Rt one and the road splits off with Rt 1 going straight and the other road off to the left a bit. There is a hotel between them and I had no problems finding parking on the side of the road there. If you go a bit further down you are essentially on the far end of their property.

The whole Dinner release debate is like the craft beer $$ debate, just more on the logistics side of thing. If you ask me - let demand drive the business.

I'm a huge fan of MBC; I love Another One, enjoy Lunch & Mo, loved Beer I and Beer II and would kill to try Dinner. With that said, I'll never participate in the madness of a Dinner release and would instead spend shorter time and effort going to Trillium, Tree House, Night Shift, etc. "Oh yah but nothing Night Shift makes is as good as Dinner!" bleah bleah don't care. Would I skip the additional 6 hours of effort to get Dinner for a beer that's "not as good" (per people's individual palatte's) - you bet I would.

With that said, I also don't fault anyone who takes the time and effort to go through the exercise to get Dinner - and if you're using some of that allotment to get your BCBS & Dark Lord varietals, your OEC sours, your KRV Citra, then good for you and cross another whale off your list. I don't in any way feel "jipped" that I don't get Dinner because I conscientiously choose to not participate. . . .

Anyway - the ramblings of a madman. Carry on! :-)

I think it comes down to MBC catering to a different audience than we have here on BA. They cater to the newbie and the ticker. Regular purchasers have moved on to better/cheaper offerings. I don't know anyone that buys MBC on a regular basis, and that does upset me slightly knowing the quality of the stuff these guys are producing. It's their choice, obviously, and they seem to be doing alright with their business model, so more power to them. It just sucks as a fan of their beers who is essentially priced out because of better cheaper offerings from the likes of Trillium, Jack's Abby, etc.

I hate the 16.9oz offering as much as anyone, from Stoneface as well as MBC, but Trillium does not come any cheaper, outside of the Fort Point offerings. Their DDH and DIPA offerings come in at the same price per ounce as Dinner and Congress works out the same as Lunch and Another One as long as you can find them for seven bucks or less, and I would not pay over that for either of them.

Obviously, the big difference is that you can typically walk into Trillium and grab stuff while Dinner has become a major hassle (which hopefully they will improve on this time around...). The ease of purchase as well as insanely high quality product is why I spend a good deal of my beer money at Trillium, though there are much cheaper offerings around..

I buy MBC on a regular basis. The bar at the end of the street has them on a rotating tap. Whatever they are pouring l drink

I'm sure MBC enjoys making lots of beers but more then half of them are shelf turds. Not bad beers(I love Zoe) but they sit everywhere. They should focus more and sell more. Win win.

What's the deal with MBC lines - do people bottle share or is it strictly prohibited?

I know the bottle share question was asked for the Dec. release and MBC said that it was not allowed on there property. I did see some out of state bottles and cans laying around at the last release. Might have been from people that got there during the night. I didn't see any sharing going on where I was in line about 250.

Anyone have estimates of how early you need to be in line? is it only 700 cases again? I was planning to get in line by 5, would that be too late?

I'm surprised to read that MBC gets dusty on shelves at your local shops... we literally cannot keep the stuff on our shelves... Mo/Peeper might be my shops' 2 best "bombers"...

Might be why we get so much Lunch..

"need" is the real question. With 700 cases I don't think you really need to get there as early as people are going to.

I don't think anywhere in a retail lot setting will ever allow drinking booze, never mind early in the morning. I'm surprised this is asked so often.

Wouldn't put it past someone to be in line today. They can have my spot cause I'm not going through it again.
