Great round of golf. I was three down with three holes to play. Finished par-birdie-par to halve the match!
Then I had my customary post-golf drink, Torpedo.
    Cheers!

As soon as Mrs Wiens gets home we're going to York River Landing for some needed refreshments. After achieving the proper attitude, we'll go grocery shopping.

Squatter's Wee Peat Scottish Ale on this overcast slightly chilly day. It's the last beer I had to try from my Squatter's mixed 12 pack. All in all a good beer, like the rest of the mix. Cheers!

Hello all! Haven't posted in a couple weeks because I've been on a road trip from California up to Oregon and then drove back down to California. Was an awesome trip and am really happy I did it but I'm pretty fucken tired after 30+ hours of driving. Visited tons of breweries and some were letdowns (wtf Ninkasi!?!) and some were amazing just as expected. The most amazing was Sierra Nevada:
I wish I was able to get some better pictures but am super thankful that Sierra Nevada ended up not being too far out of the way as it is my favorite brewery and it didn't disappoint whatsoever. It was enormous yet very classy and it truly looked like the mecca of breweries. Absolutely beautiful and had amazing prices. 3 dollars for 4 tasters and 5-6 dollars per pint or 10 oz if you order the BA Bigfoot or Hoptimum. Hoptimum is what is pictured above and damn it tasted great after 7 hours on the road!

Now back in CA enjoying something special this morning...

Thanks for putting up with the long post and cheers!

Man, pristine waters & Jai Alai. That's paradise right there.

Hey brother, I got the camera & set up a photobucket account, all's I need now is to figure out that last step & I feel like I'm ready to rock. That is if you still feel like helping me out after all my Cavs bashing last night... :-)

Having a not so nice day at home dealing with plumbers and running tedious errands. To top it off, it's rainy and dreary and just blah. My day was significantly brightened, however, by a gigantic box from @wcu80 . We traded a few times last year, but as both of us have pulled back on trading and both of us are busy with our respective businesses, we’d lost touch. I’d messaged him a bit ago just to say hello and catch up and lo and behold, this massive box of goodness appears!

Included among so many great things was this Tropicalia from Creature Comforts.
Had not even heard of it before. I’d popped it in the fridge this morning and after several hours of frustrating calls, figured I deserved a little early afternoon treat. What a terrific little beer! It’s juicy and tropical, but nicely balanced and a reasonable choice for midday drinking at 6.6%. This is definitely on my list of things that need to be in my fridge in the summer. Thank you Allen and cheers to all you BAs who realize that it’s about sharing, trying new things and making friends along the way and not about “winning” by cutting in line, getting 2x/3x allocations of limited beers by changing your clothes in the parking lot or taking advantage of newbies with lopsided trades. I am definitely winning today and it tastes so good!
