From what I hear from distribution that is exactly what is happening. They can barely make enough beer for the pub and a few local accounts. SD/LA has dried up. I used to always have JO and Class V on the shelf, now it's few and far between.

Also to the OP, as far as trade value for Citra I was getting a 4pk of KBS for 2 Citra on the last release. Seemed like a fair trade to me.

I got 1:1 for Kuhnhenn bb stuff - although a lot of folks still look at it as an off-the-shelf dipa, not knowing how hard it can be to snag a few bottles. Mostly drank what I got, tho. Great beer, tiny brewery.

BTW, I hope KS is available in Sept. because I understand they might not start brewing it until after bootlegger's moves its operations to the new location. But still, Sept makes sense because of GABF.

Who all is driving up for the Citra release when it is released in Aug or Sept? I will probably most likely head up the Thursday before and camp out. Will have to wait and see when it is released.

I might just have to do that and extend it into a Mammoth trip as well.

I was at the last release. It was not that crazy, but then again we went on the first day which was a Friday. Such a great beer, especially at around $5-$6.

Just Outstanding should land at whole foods in the next week or so. Talked to the beer guy. 1 bottle limit, and should be in the back so you have to ask.

    ps-You are welcome.

Thank you, but there are probably 50+ Whole Foods in So Cal, this info doesn't help out a whole lot.

I am drinking a super fresh bottle of JO right now! It's been a long time my old friend, great batch. Bottled 7-19 and I too got it at my local WF. I take really good care of my brew-guru, he never wants for Alpine that's for sure.

    Cheers.....

What i dont like about Kern River is i can find bottles in Bako but can you find it on tap anywhere?

Also they seem not to care about anywhere near Bako. You cant find this in my town of Visalia which is only 1 hour North. You cant even find it in Fresno. It seeems to go all south.

Where is the local love? My local bar Emails them and asks if they can go drive and pick up a Keg and they cant even reply back.

I cant recall the last time I've seen it on tap in town. There were a few weeks where anything other than Isabella Blonde could not be found on the shelves. The brewery is packed asses to elbows nearly from the time they open to the time they close during the summer months. It doesnt surprise me that a shipment is being sent down south right before Citra is released though. It's actually a great idea....if you didnt claim that "locals" are your priority.

We just got a case of JO in at Adam's in Redondo. It's in the cooler and cold!

We also got a few other novelties in the last week or two.

Just landed in S. OC as well. Interesting how it hasn't been on shelves in 6+ months but all of a sudden floods the market. I would think that summer is the busiest time there, hence distro slowing in summer. Maybe they are making room for something...

It seems to be everywhere right now. Got two bottles, myself, at Whole Foods.

Weird, went to Whole Foods in Torrance on PCH today and the guy said they haven't had any JO in forever and he heard of a labeling issue? Sucks!

They probably weren't sending much to distro as they were brewing dirty hippy and a lot of their JO specialty brews like Jalapeno dry hopped with Cascade. So they are probably just getting back to normal. I remember hearing something like this at FWIBF but I could be getting something mixed up.
