    Used to be a lot less developed, but I stopped in for a few days last summer on the way down to my brothers, sure noticed the changes. There are also some nice freshwater springs to check out, but those too probably have been loved to death. Used to be great bottom fishing not to far from Destin. We actually did a day of fishing while there. My boys said they NEVER want to do that again, I had fun, but that is an exhausting day when the wind doesn't blow on the Gulf.

    West Coast BA is on vacation back in the Motherland (UK). Took a couple of old (non-craft) buddies out on a beer odyssey at The Craft Beer Co in Clerkenwell (London).

    Started easy on them with an excellent Kernel Simcoe, Amarillo & Mosaic Pale Ale

    Then shit got weird. Had heard so much good stuff about Siren Brewing that we tried their "All Brett's Are Off" Brett Bitter. Hmm- interesting idea but didn't work for me at all (and nearly put my buddies off 'good' beer for life:

    So then my buddy goes to the bar and comes back with three pints of Siren's "Mum's The Word", a smoked cherry and chipotle porter. It's supposed to be served in half pints but that somehow got lost in translation. Against all odds, this was the hit of the night- hardly any cherry notes but the smoke & heat notes were spot on.

    Especially as it came with an orgasmic Wensleydale, Chicken & Ham pie and home-made scotch eggs...

    I decided it was time to step it up. Not cheap, but so worth it...:

    By now it was time to head home so my buddy decided to sign off in style- Beavertown's TIPA "Power of the Voodoo". Jeebus. Gotta say this is one of the best TIPAs I've had, and that includes The Younger and Black Label Hopocalypse. Watch out America, dem Brits is coming...
