Funny, I had the Toasted Coconut Porter from Orange Blossom Brewing Co. recently and enjoyed it. Don't know if I'll ask for it again from my Miami trading buddy, but I didn't hate it by any means.

I will try anything, but I want balanced beers. Habanero Sculpin is the poster child of too much chili's, but there are a lot of BBA beers which have the same problem.

    That is also an abomination.

Usually I find chai-like drinks overly spiced, overly sweet, and overall poorly executed. So yeah, spiced tea = no good! In beer? Even worse.

All kidding aside, it's my new mission in life to find & consume that brew. Although when I do, I definitely plan to use 'poop-tastic' in my review, one way or the other :-)

You'd think with most of these responses more than half the Top 250 would be readily available.

Smoked peat - yes please - but liquid smoke or anything bbq-like, that's just wrong.

I have a close friend who shares my love of beer.... and one of his favs was the BA weasel poop series. I did some trading just to supply his habit for calvados cask and cognac cask poop.

the real good stuff I've only had once or twice. It IS good.
Generally, when I go to Indian communities for munchies, it's late, and I can't do caffeine any longer.
(I'm a mega fan of Indian food, though....)

Im not a huge fan of maple. So a maple beer has to really nail it for me to enjoy it.

Black licorice & peanut butter. I don't think it's been used yet but Durian, leave that nasty fruit out of beer.

    For me no:

    Vanilla
    Liquid smoke
Barrel anything (sorry BAAdvocate - I'll leave now)
Pumpkin/Spices (except Finback's Pumpkin IPA - really great actually)

Coffee can be ok, othertimes its terrible. Some beers I've had seem put coffee in it just so they can say they've used it - or to show they can partner with a trendy roasting company.
It can taste really thin, like a lame iced coffee. Founder's BS and a local Long Ireland coffee stout are the exceptions for me.

On the other hand - oatmeal and oyster stouts are favorites of mine.
Chilis are ok in darker beers.

I the case of fruit, for example, once the yeast metabolize the sugars and you lose the texture of the fruit the perceived flavor is very different from ones normal frame of reference. Though, I agree artificial flavors are unpalatable.
