Skillet Donut Stout

On sale at Tasty now according to their Twitter feed. Just picked up a few at State of Beer. They're practically out.

 

First time having this and I was impressed. Plenty of coffee & donut flavor, but without the sickly-sweetness of say an Evil Twin Doughnut Break. Plenty thick for 8% too.

 

I need this!

Tried it today while in Charlotte. I didnt know anything about the beer. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Will look out for the cans in the triangle area.

 

There are still a few cans left in Raleigh. Not much though.

 

Opened a can tonight. Wow. Blown away. I think it tasted better than the draft I had at Busy Bee a few months ago.

 

So much more coffee from the cans!

 

I've only had the cans, but I agree. It had more coffee in it than a lot of "coffee" stouts out there.

 

Same takeaway here, a little sweeter (I heard they put some more lactose in the canning run) and DEFINITELY lots of coffee. It was really good and I hope they keep on canning a ton of it.

 

I'll take it when I can get it, but I'm just hoping that it's around in the fall and not 103 degrees every day.

 

Still got plenty at Appalachian Vintner. $4.25 per can.

 

Will be visiting Asheville early next week -- hoping it is still around!!

 

I'd say it's pretty damn good in cans. Better than draft, has more sweetness to it, and the coffee is legit amped up. Really enjoying this batch.

 

Last can I have going down the hatch right now. I'm not sure what Burial's exact identity will end up being, but they clearly have a home run with Skillet and any potential variants of it. They have good saisons too, but will need to do more in that category to justify their commitment to them going forward IMO. They have a good IPA I think in Surf Wax, I would look for that in cans soon. We obviously all want it, get some!

 

Scythe is awesome. Like Skillet too. Had one tonight.

 

Any chance this is still around in bottle shops in Asheville or at the brewery? Headed into town from Colorado this weekend.

 

At a minimum, you can still find cans for sale at the brewery but you might be able to find them at some bottle shops too

 

I have not seen any at bottle shops but they did have them at the brewery this weekend.

Are cans of Skillet Donut Stout still available at the brewery? I plan on being at the Wicked Weed Funkatorium on Thursday evening (7/23) and will stop by Burial as well if they still have some left.
