If there's a firkin of Solstice Stout again, or Solstice Stout in general, this is going to be a long evening.

Solstice Stout is good and all, but i'd rather have the Play In The Hay's....

The list with the play in the hays was from 2013 i think. That year was cool as they opened at 10 and had everything on right away.

Were both of those pictures just prior releases, and not today's taplists?

Am I the only one who thinks posts like that only serve to confuse the heck out of people? Haha looking for some clarification here.

Both prior. For comparison's sake once we find out what's up for today.

    Let's do the numbers.

Witch's Hat Release of the Dragons
    Bottles: 230 x 22 Oz
    Price: Average for the 3 - $15.66
    Total Yield: 5060 oz
    Price per ounce 71.2 cents
Limit per person: 44 oz - not open to the public

    Kuhnehenn's Summer Solstice
    Bottles: 1560 x 12 oz
    Price: $8.50 per bottle
    Total yield: 18720 oz
    Price per ounce: 70.8 cents
    Limit per person: 48 oz

It seems to me that the last Witches hat release had much smaller yield for their release, limit was about the same, and about the same pricepoint, yet I dont remember any complaining. But then again Witch's Hat isnt everyone's favorite punching bag.

Someone correct me if I am wrong on any of this. I got the witches hat info from the release thread.

Not trying to be *too* argumentative here, but Kuhnhenn has been open like a decade longer, so the assumption (faulty as it may be) is that in that time, they'd have figured out what works for their two big solstice events a year.

I personally don't care at all, I go for the taps on Friday and have no interest in waiting in the line for bottles.

They have, and just because it doesnt work for someone personally, shouldnt mean it is bad. They are also in the midst of a large transition. Also, I find that I should judge a release based on how long a brewery has been in business silly, but that is just me.

I think what people are really irked about is having to wait in line early. So they are mad that someone else is willing to put more effort into getting it.

For one, I have no clue why you bring up Witch's Hat...

Kuhnhenn has been open much longer and for years has produced MUCH more in quantity than they are today...I know you do not remember, but the batch you pointed out for Witch's hat was the last batch from their extremely small strip mall place. That place could not hold anything near what Kuhnhenn can and does...Kuhnhenn's place is atleast 10 times the size of that place..They can produce much more, yet for the last couple years decide not to do so...

As far as price, it dont bother me...I believe 3 years ago they had $32 4 pack of bb4d...$.50 more is no biggie...My roll eyes was not on price, but I do see why that was confused..

EDIT: btw, they keep losing brewers, so maybe that is a big reason the low quantity of beer produced..

I'm planning on arriving at the brewery at 9 Saturday morning to just buy the bottles. I have to be at work by noon downtown detroit. Anybody thinks my plan would work? Do you all think I have enough time? I've never waited in line to buy beer before so I have no idea what to expect.

What does that have to do with kegging it because it is such a small release? Why shouldnt have witch's hat kegged theirs dues to the amount released.

Mostly I bring up Witch's hat because it was a small release and everyone went crazy in a good way. But Kuhnhenn's does a release almost 4 times the size, and it is the end of the world because it is so small. I guess I judge them by what they are, not by what I want them to be.

    Arriving AT 9?
99.99999999% you'll be SOL by a large margin....
Truthfully, anybody who gets in line past, probably, 8...(probably earlier) won't get any...

my main point and I believe everyone else is they, in the past, have made much more than they are now...So of course we would be disappointed with such a low yield than in the past...And again, you compared Witch's hat last release that came out of their tiny strip mall location off of a 3 barrel system to this kuhnie release, which again, they have the ability to produce much, much more...

Maybe one thing we are overlooking is now they are distributing kegs which Im not sure how much they were doing 3 years ago..
