Twin Cities Bottle Hunt

The G-Will Liquors in Lino Lakes also has a a few bottles of Rodenbach Charactere Rouge.

 

Just picked up 6 bottles of Peach at the place across the street from Deja Vu, Downtown. Over priced as always but couldn't find it anywhere else.

 

All this talk about Starkeller has me thinking...anyone seen any Star of the North or Framboise around? Perhaps it's a long shot but it can't hurt to ask.

 

Star of the North I think will be a hard find, rumors are it is still on the shelf in "obscure stores in small towns in Wisconsin", but no one has been able to tell me exactly what stores... so not sure I have much hope.

I just bought a bottle of Framboise, so it is out there. I think your best hope is the burbs and further the out, the better. I will check on my way home at a few spots. If I find one, I can snag it for you. I work in Mendota Heights and live in Albertville, so most of the cities is on my way home.

 

Hmmm...I've been keeping my eye open, no luck so far in the east Metro. I'm heading to Duluth this weekend so will check around there and in Superior.

 

My folks are in Superior so I make regular stops at Keyport and I've never seen any of the Noble Star beers there. Haven't checked other stores in the area/Duluth tho.

 

framboise is still sitting on the shelf at wayzata wine and spirit. they may also have star of the north. dont recall if it was that or dawn of aurora last time i was there.

 

I bought the last two Star of the Norths and Framboise Du Nords from Island Wines in Cumberland, WI. So you can check that one off the list. Still plenty of Marzen, & Cherry in Hayward, Rice Lake, and Cumberland. I think I saw Framboise Du Nord on the shelf @ the Village Dell in Rice Lake, but that was probably a month ago.

 

Keyport had growler fills of Dawn of Aurora for quite a while. Right now they have Dawn of Aurora bottles and Cypress Blanc, I believe.

Yeah I only know that because I made a special trip up there for DoA. For some reason it never showed up at my local haunts, even though the rest of the series did.

 

I think it is funny that some places near me just got Cypress Blanc last week, but already got Starkeller this week.

 

Yup, if there was an award for most most insane beer distribution I'd award it to Schell's.

 

Four Firkinds SLP had a few bottles of 08' BCBS just now when I stopped in.

 

The 08 BCBS looks to be gone.

For some reason there were 3-4 Framboise du Nords at the liquor store in Jordan the other day (well, like a month ago now) which was surprising because they didn't carry the rest of the line.

I wouldn't be is burb stores stopped carrying the series due to it not selling. I know someone that was that talked to one of these store owners and the owner said he would sell him a case of Starkeller to him for cost since it just sits around. Don't know if it happened, but the stores near me having releases back to Brunette, I can see it.

 

I was gonna post earlier about my interaction with clerk (manager maybe?) at MGM in Chaska. I asked him on Tuesday if they were getting peach and he said "No, sours don't sell here, the last 3 are still on the shelf." I also was at Vintage in Chanhassen last week when someone was trying to order a case for himself, not sure if they let him. They had a case when I was there yesterday, limit two per person.

I stopped at pretty much all the stores on my way home to see what was up and Cheers in Chan got a case with no limit, Haskell's in Chan had two left from the case they got (I bought both, sorry), and the other stores didn't know what I was talking about (MGM in Chan and Byerly's liquor store in Chan).

One thing I noticed is all the random beers that go quickly elsewhere just sit at these places. There were probably over 20 Blushing Monk on shelves, as well as a large collection of BA Bigfoot between the stores that I visited. Other stuff I thought would sell quicker like Lift Bridge Irish Coffee & Commander and Clown Shoes Extremely Angry Beast just turds it up in the SW burbs.

No reason to even cellar anything out in my neck of the woods. You can just walk in and grab pre-aged beer!

 

It's the same in my area. I found 2 bottles of 2011 Westmalle Dubbel earlier this week.
