I knew Batman was an eye roller, he just looks like THAT kind of guy.....

I am just going to have to drink an Endeavor, so I can honestly speculate. I have only had DR11.

Didn't mean to open the can of worms. Sorry guys. I just thought that rater was way off base with his review and thought we could share a laugh. I know taste is subjective, but come on his review is biased as hell!

I can guarantee that none of the reviews are from employees.

That is crap. I have not rated it yet, but I think it is great, and every bit as good a DR 11 if not better. SA hit this out of the park. I can also tell you that nobody from SA hypes up releases or gives false reviews. Maybe the so called SA Army, but I know nobody from the company does that at all.

Yeah, if it had huge body, wouldn't that make it an American Barleywine? If it's not a IIPA at 8.9% ABV and 76 IBU, I wonder what he'd classify it being closer to.

A number of us have had a number of great IIPAs. Tastes can vary.

I'll also go ahead and guess that the crowd of Endeavour lovers overlaps pretty darned well with the crowd of Lagunitas Sucks lovers.

I actually did a side by side with DR 11, heady topper, pliny, dreadnaught and zombie dust (apa) with similar dates on all of them. I thought the DR 11 was every bit as good as the others. Maybe the national hype of pliny just didn't taste as good as the local hype of the divine. I have yet to try the Endeavour. I'm willing to bet that if St Arnold's put Pliny in a bottle and called it DR 12 there would still be people in this forum that would bash it because it is a St A's product.

I was joking!! It is a current joke as it always seems the first handful of reviews on many brews are all high rated. What I believe to be true is that it is the biggest fans of the beers that rush to try it and rate it first, not employees. It happens consistently. I knew someone would take me seriously. It is my karma for taking everyone too seriously last night.

The only real input I have had on this thread was on the pre-release hype, and my thoughts on DR11. I know nothing of Endeavor besides three facts.

    1. It is a re-release of a recipe I have tasted on many occassions.
    2. It seems to have mixed reactions, many love, many say it is so-so.
    3. The reviews seem very one-sided for such a mixed reaction.

If people want their opinion on the record, they should review more beers!....I myself am chilling one now, will certainly post a review when I drink it...should be tomorrow night.

i still have some DR11. I guess I need to do a side by side. Come to think of it, i've never actually had any DR11 - i've given away a few bottles tho.

How do you have DR11 all this time but you haven't had any?

I thought it was a barleywine and was aging it. I only recently found out it was an IPA.:astonished:

I'm not getting the comparisons to Lagunitas Sucks. While I was hoping Endeavor would be close to a Pliny clone or other West Coast style DIPA, it is not quite as forward with the tropical / grapefruit aroma or taste. Its there, but it's more balanced with a spicy hopness and some earthiness. Picking up some herbal/onion notes, also. It is it's own unique style of DIPA, and a pretty complex one at that. My initial slight disappointment has given way to realizing that we now have a high quality year round DIPA that stands on its own merits. I am liking it more and more with each tasting. Cheers!

Agreed...I had a Heady Topper, Hopslam and an Endeavor last night. Endeavor just isn't on the same level as the "elite" IIPA's out there. I wanted to love it but ended up only liking it. I would buy it again if the mood struck me but for my tastes, I would never put it in the same category as Pliny, Heady, Hopslam etc....
