Ballast Point's Black Marlin porter. Simple yet somehow unique, and utterly delicious.
I think it's their best porter. There, I said it.

Anything from Devils Backbone. They've won countless awards for their beer but get no love on here because they don't make sours or BA beers.

I'm drinking one right now and I agree. Subtlety is not Oskar Blues strong suit, but they do what they do quite well.

I know it gets great reviews and scores but Columbus IPA doesn't seem to get much chatter. I really think if this beer was distributed over a larger area, it would be a giant in the single IPA lineup.

4 hands brewery. Madagascar is starting to get national attention, but they put out many world class brews.

Pliny The Elder. There seems to be a trend to downplay how great this beer truly is and call it overrated. Absolute rubbish.

Always advocate for Odell Brewing. Odell IPA, St. Lupulin, cutthroat are hard to beat imo.

I alsothink Wasatch Brewing deserves more recognition. They are based in Park City and a Polygamy Porter or The Devastator always seem to be an amazing way to end a day on the slopes

This was going to be my answer. I've been a fan of lagers and an advocate for them on here for a long time, but this summer I've made a point to really dig into all the styles within the lager umbrella. At this point, I'm beginning to reconsider my advocacy of them. With no hype surrounding them, I can get awesome lagers of any substyle with no hassle. It's nice.

A good pale ale, not a lower ABV IPA but a pale ale. One that has hops and a malt backbone.

I'll also throw in a brown ale, not a hoppy brown ipa but a brown ale. One that has some roast, chocolate, caramel/toffee flavor with a hint of hops to balance it out.

Copper Kettle is sooo good. Mexican Chocolate Stout is my fav stout. Their Helles and their Cherry Basil is also top notch. Snowed In Oatmeal stout is beyond good.

I'm a huge fan of Copper Kettle...in particular, their BBA BW Well Bred...man I wish I had more bottles of that stuff. Also recently had their Macallan BA stout, which was effing awesome.

I've mentioned it before elsewhere, but Stillwater's new Mono Pilsner is my current favorite beer. It barely registers as a pilsner to me with all the tropical hop flavors that come through. It pretty covers all of my bases of what I like in a beer. I could advocate for it all day.

Here here. Love a great Eisbock. True they are very underrated. And not much shelf space either. I went in to total wine one day and was asking a employee about Eisbocks. He had no idea what the style of beer it was....

Suggestion: Ask for the "beer person" in the store. As you know, it's not like Eisbock is a ubiquitous beer style. There frankly just aren't very many available. Not sure where you are in Cali, but a quick check of the TWM website for your store could show you the Eisbocks carried and what's in stock. For example, here's the Tustin store http://www.totalwine.com/eng/search/eisbock

I wish every living soul who is employeed by TWM at any given time would know about every beer style, including the more esoteric styles such as Eisbock. But, alas, that's not the case.

I'll throw another vote in for Odell IPA. One of the first IPAs I had in my craft journey and one of my favorites. Unfortunately I don't get it in my area so it's been far too long since I've had it (July 31st of last year, according to my Untappd).

Fat Head's Headhunter. Although it does have a very high rating, and it is absolutely delicious, it doesn't trade that way. It scores higher than White Rajah, but I get more requests for Rajah than Headhunter. Both great IPA's, but Headhunter is right up there with the best of them. I believe it made the top 25 recently? Anyway, for whatever reason, when I post a FT for it...in most cases... crickets! I just don't get it.
