If you asked me a year ago, I would have said the others were the best local IPA's I could get (at least in bottles) -- but now I would definitely rank this one ahead of the other two...glad you liked it

I know exactly what you mean man. I don't recall if you were part of the group yet or not, but my boy Ralph passed last fall; almost the same exact scenario except we knew about it for a couple months. You're right that with time it gets easier, but I admit I spent a couple minutes crying after reading your post; I definitely still miss my boy.
