Not sure what TG's official policy is on dogs. I have had our dogs there on a couple occassions on patio. I know some others have from time to time to. I would guess that they would not promote it for sure.

They just bottled Xhops White and will bottle Pompeii tomorrow. Should still see some around on Friday at the taproom.

Check out Koreana. Its an Asian restaurant with an apartment-like room up top. Very reasonable $$$ wise. Plus you get 1/2% off meals (if you don't want to eat Subway or Pizza Ranch)

I take it you're not on Motel 6's frequent customers list!

I got one once on Saturday night to get to my hotel. They didn't even answer the phone on the following morning. That was a long walk, especially with the hangover...

I stayed at the Super 8 at the edge of town and used two different cab services to get around, that night. The folks at TG were kind enough to give me numbers to 3 separate services. I showed up in town around 3ish, went straight to the tap house, purchased the pirate booty, drove back to the hotel and unloaded for the night. Once ready for the evening I used the taxi services to get around. @Golden303, call me brotha if you need anymore detail!

If you're into camping, there's a great campground on the river, walking distance from the TG brewpub. I'm sure it'd be dog friendly as well.

This is most welcome news. Good hiking in the area?

Absolutely. There's a litany of great hiking with an hour of Decorah.

The Decorah Human Powered Trails right in town are very nice in their own right, but not that remote. Yellow River Forest (about 40 miles to the east/southeast) has about 30 miles of hiking trails. Forestville and Beaver Creek Valley State Parks in Minnesota are each in that 30-40 minute range from Decorah and have great trail systems. Beaver Creek Valley is a little more scenic in my opinion, and you don't have to share the trails with horses. Coldwater Creek Wildlife Area between Cresco and Burr Oak is about 15 minutes out of town and leads you back into the woods to where an underground cave comes roaring out the base of a 150 foot cliff. You should be able to find maps of most these places by Googling them.

Thanks for all the insight guys. The trip was amazing. My first tg experience and it was everything I imagined and then some. Because of the info I got I was able to buy zeelander, smoove, wheat, psuedo, xhops, pompeii, warrior, and dorthys. I tried on tap regifter which I thought was a very solid beer for being an accident, very piney and clean. Also on tap sosus and light speed. I think zeelander might bey fav but it sosus pompeii and sue are just out of this world.

Is Dunnings Springs Park, or Campsite Park a better option? I should probable search them both and see if they are pet friendly. Thanks for the info. This sounds like it could be a fun little road trip.

On second thought, is it called Pulpit Rock Campground?
