I'm not much of a barley wine drinker, but I REALLY love the good ones. I feel like saying Sucaba is cheating though.. So i'm going to go ahead and say my favorite is Pelican Brewings Mother of All Storms. Holy crap is that stuff delicious.

    Brooklyn Monster

    All Time BA:
    Sucaba
    ADWTD

Just Ohio, which I think make some great ones:

    BA Naked Evil
    BBA Brick Kiln
    BBA Jackhammer from Brew Kettle
Olde Battering Ram with Pasilla Peppers from MadTree

    Weird, insert comment here, like:
New Crustacean from Rogue - this one always tastes great to me fresh!

Only mentioned once here, but Cognac BA Church on a Hill blew me away. English style BW is my favorite beer category as well. Have Brick Kiln and, Aaron and Lunker on deck. I'll have to see soon how they compare.

Is a cellar'd/aged American BW that different from an English BW?

Out of the ones I've tried I like CW BBBW for taste, ease and price. Old Ruffian was a very good non-barrel aged BW. I wish BA Murderous was made more...

I think that BA-bigfoot and BCBBW are overrated. Good, but not that good.

I have in my possession, but have yet to try...

Deal with the Devil (actually the brother-in-law has this one but promised to split)
    Sucaba
    MOAS
    Behemoth
    EDIT: Bolt Cutter, too!

I've told many people this before, "I have a buying problem, not a drinking problem!"

Wish they wouldn't have stopped making Y2K. That was also a very good non-barrel aged BW.

It varies and depends on how long. For example, Uinta's Cockeyed Coope. BBA American Barleywine and the bottle was from about 3 years ago too. Drank it a couple of months ago and it was still very hop forward. Then COAST Old Nuptial, which is also a BBA American Barleywine. Hops are barely present in that one.

Depends on the beer. I had a 2012 SN Bigfoot recently and it still tasted more like an American BW.

Yeah, there's a post about it here. I still like when they had it in 12oz bottles, too.
