Yeah they must be waiting until there is minimal hop character left.

The Citrusinuses is a little dominated by the orange. It's not an accent like GF Sculpin is, it's the majority of the flavor profile. It's not bad by any means but just different.

Yr cray. The Citrusinensis is a delight.

I think the exact opposite. GF Sculpin is too much grapefruit for me and the Citrusinensis is more subtle. Different strokes.

Saving the other two Briar's. Anyone have any extra Red's sitting around by chance?

    Don't you say that!

I knew they were doing a collaboration. Any word if this will show up at Pizza Boy?

The Red/Black Berliner at Roundabout is damn good. Only one keg.

Humboldt range is killer. They stopped filling growlers last time they brewed it in March but I talked to Steve and they brewed a lot more this time around. If you like mosaic hops and juicy/tropical ipa, go get it. It's the best ipa brewed in the city. The abv shows a bit. Wonderful beer.

It's not the most attractive beer, however...

So just where is that Shuggy when you need him??

Seriously, I had this beer the last time around and thought it was really nice for a local product. But yeah, it was almost disturbingly turbid. If it hadn't tasted so good I might have held that against it...

Seriously again, I would be curious what a guy like Shuggy thinks of this beer. It's not perfect, but for the local scene, at least in terms of IPA, it's cutting edge. Don't you guys agree?

I honestly found of lot of similarities in Humboldt Range and Akamai, and if you made me choose I would pick the Akamai.

The Red/Black Berliner at Roundabout was a beautiful beer in appearance but the flavor left me wanting more from those berries. I enjoyed it though.

FWIW I went to Penn Brewery for the first time tn and was rather impressed. Nothing blew me away. And half the beers were unmemorable. But the ones that were on were on. That golden lager was like my uncle Bud, but more flavor. Does anyone know if they bottle/can that one?

Penn is one of those places where when you are there the beers just seem better. A Penn Weizen with my food just always seems perfect. Have not been there in ages, but your post may change that.

Can't help you on whether it is bottled.

They bottle most of their stuff, Penn Pilsner, Dark, Weizen, and Kaiser Pils for sure and then I know I've seen several other beers seasonally.

Man I'm the exact opposite of all you guys it seems. I want my IPAs so bursting and thick with hops you can't see through them with the bat signal. Hill Farmstead Society and Solitude Series, basically every Treehouse can, all the Double Dry Hopped Trilliums, Toppling Goliath. I want to confuse my glass with a glass of Goya nectar.

Of course there are exceptions to this like Pliny and Head Hunter and all that, but when they are thick and chunky, I know I'm going to flavor country.

Agree with what others have said about a Roundabouts new offerings. I wish that they offered growler fills of the raspberry Berliner Weiss. A little lighter in taste compared to the few other beers I've had of this style, but damn refreshing and a unique offering for Pittsburgh.

Also, cool running into you @uvm2003 . I run into you at pretty random times.
