Definitely worthy of a freak out, no worries there. I'm sticking to my above point that making it complicated (tracking it down, extra delays, etc) will likely end up worse than just letting it arrive with Nick and be sent back out the next day, IL to KY should be 1 day anyway, so it'll barely be a delay. I totally understand that this particular box that is more of a pain than usual, but that's better than "delay even more".

 

Was picked up at 4pm today and on a truck to the sorting facility, but fed ex wasn't sure if it would end up in one of two locations

 

@LehighAce06 is probably right where it might not be worth the hassle, but I can't imagine it is an issue when it was picked up 1 hour ago. Really makes you wonder about them.

 

I think I was just talking to morons. They did say they could hold it, find it, reroute it back to me but it could take a day or two to locate it and made it seem the process is so automated.

and it makes me nervous to have them playing around w the box, what if they open it!

 

Thing is, will you ever have a chance not to.

Also this, I wanted to point it out myself but didn't want to risk jinxing it. I tend to feel that "under the radar" is best.

 

and the truck is going to stores all in the vicinity, I asked if they can just drop it off there and they can switch the label. nope.

 

in that case, since there is going to be a delay anyway, @LehighAce06 has the right approach...of course, that's making @NickyPogs take the boxes back to the Fed Ex store.

I'm going to try one more time tonight to see if they can reroute it.

Awesome! I think @Tee2Grn and I are an hour and half or so apart.

 

I always drop off my boxes at about 7-7:30AM and they don't go anywhere until about 3PM, so worst case if I realized I screwed up I could always retrieve it. But I sort of agree that once it's on a vehicle I don't want to draw attention to it.
