Just wondering, was looking at the draft list, was thinking about swinging out that way Thursday but I doubt that will happen.

@Kramerbarthomer just booked my business trip to Denver. Landing in Denver on 7/19 at 5:30PM and will be leaving the 21st at 6PM.

We need to meet up for a handshake and a drink.

Shake two birds with one hand (or something like that)...come down to Colorado Springs. I'll buy you a beer!

Depending on where my meetings are, I have customers in Denver and Colo Springs.

    We shall see!

I think you hit the nail on the head much more with "small but very visible" than with "there are very few Local for Local traders". Obviously the "wrong direction" crowd is growing, but I think that's as indicative of the growth in the community as a whole as it is of a behavior trend.

I've had no trouble finding trading partners outside the BIF community (not that I feel I need to, sometimes it just happens) and have met many very cool people that, if they had the time/funds/inclination to join us would fit in quite well.

The trick is you have to know where to look, and for what. Walezbro trades certainly dominate ISO:FT, but if you have a little patience you can sift through to find some folks that are just looking to move beer around the country. Before finding the BIF forum, that's how I got my start, as I'm sure many of the group did as well. The trouble is that those folks end up finding a handful of regular trading partners and as far as posting on ISO:FT goes, they disappear; meanwhile the walez hunters continue making 10 threads a day. They are out there though.

Haven't heard a date yet either... nor where they're going to have it though the speculation is at the old brewery since they had an arrangement with Brooklyn Center to sell it there that they are not able to replicate in Minneapolis. (breweries of Surly's size (>20000 bbl) cannot legally sell product directly to consumers by state law.. they got around that in Brooklyn Center by having the municipal liquor store sell them).

Personally TG would not be worth the drive for me unless it was some kind of special release - most of their regular stuff hits Hudson. The taproom is nothing special.

Hello kids! I'm Tertullian007, from the SWTFYW forum. I am going to run a cross-forum LIF. To be eligible for this LIF, you must have posted at least once in either the Locals or SWTFYW forums before today. I am going to @dust_bunny's party in Arizona on July 11th. I will be renting a car and driving from Missouri. Guess how many miles I put on that poor rental car in the 4 days I will have it. Closest overall guess wins a 12-shipper of beer. No Price is Right Rules. Because we are Locals and SWTFYW, the box will consist of 6 STL Locals and 6 WTFIW. To play, please quote this post or tag me. Below is the list of bottles that will be in the box.

    1. Side Project Punchdown
    2. Perennial Abraxas
    3. Perennial Sump
    4. 4 Hands Madagascar
    5. 4 Hands Volume 1
    6. 4 Hands Bona Fide
    7-12. WTFIW

Cheers and best of Luck to you all.
